This chapter is written from Four's perspective, please keep that in mind! ☆⁂

What remained of the night had swiftly passed and the new day began. The stars and moon faded and gave way to a pink sky full of thick, white clouds, gently moving forward. But, while (O/N) managed to return to sleep swiftly and with ease, you had not been so fortunate. You sat in a secluded spot you and X had picked out a long time ago. It was for the purpose of sleep, but sleeping was really the last thing you had on your mind. Your mind swarmed with thoughts and you sat there until it was midday, keeping to yourself in an attempt to sort out what you were feeling.

"Four?"

Recognizing the voice, you twisted over to see your true *yellow* friend peeking over the edge of the entrance to the beach cave you resided in. It was one of the many places you and X had stayed before. Since none of your ex-contestants knew of its existence, it was optimal housing, albeit temporary. Didn't want any of those silly objects coming around to pester either of you.

"Have you slept at all? You look tired, Four..."

"I'll be fine, X-!"

You rubbed the tiredness out of your eyes, responding to the variables word simultaneously.

"-it's not the first time I've stayed up overnight."

X came around the edge and strode inside, sitting next to you on the soft, cool sand.

"Yeah, but, why? You haven't pulled an all-nighter since BFB ended!"
"Is everything okay?"

You squirmed around in place, uncomfortably, pushing the sand around with your legs and arms. You weren't exactly keen on sharing your inner thoughts, or emotions, but it was something you were *trying* to work on.

"Mmmm, well. I was just thinking about some stuff.... someone said to me last night."

"Someone? Who?"

"It's not important!"

"Oh, okay."
"Wait, you were out last night? I didn't even know!"

"You were asleep."

"Oh yeah!"

You were thankful that X quickly let the subject of *who* you were talking to go, breathing a soundless sigh of relief. You just weren't ready to tell them about your little meetings with (O/N), it felt awkward for some reason.

"So, you met up with someone then?"

"Yeah."

"How'd it go? If you want to talk about it, I mean."

You pondered over it for a few painstaking moments. You'd done really good expressing yourself to X the other day, even though it was hard. You would just have to try and do the same thing again. Without sharing too many details, of course! You got up off the floor of the cave and began to restlessly pace back and forth in front of X, finally beginning to speak again.

"It went good, I think. They liked being around me, maybe."
"I just didn't know how to feel about some of the stuff they said, really."

X sat on their knees, taking care to pay close attention to your words, but *also* taking the time to begin building a sand castle from the surrounding sand as you talked.
