four

evie's POV:

i woke up to billie laying all the way on top of me. every time we'd have a sleepover, no matter how we'd go to sleep, i'd always wake up with her like this. i cracked the tiniest smile, but it was gone in a flash. the warm feeling i had in my chest gone along with it.

i could feel her eyelashes flutter against my neck, and i rubbed her back gently. "good morning" she smiled, her head lifting to look at me and scooting herself so she laid beside me and not on top of me.

"morning" i said, "do you think you'll be okay for like an hour? i wanna bring shark over here" she asked, i nodded "you're staying? why?" i ask, she frowned.

"evie, i'm not gonna leave you here like this, i wanna take care of you and make sure you're okay" she answered. i nodded and she sat up.

"there's an extra toothbrush you can keep here" i said. "okay, thank you" she smiled, getting up.

she went into the bathroom, and 5 minutes later she came back out and left the room. after about 20 minutes, i heard the front door open and close, signalling that she'd left the house.

i sigh and roll over, and i could hear the dogs run upstairs. i decided that i felt okay enough to brush my teeth, so that's what i did, and got back in bed.

the dogs were already in my room, so when i laid back down, they all got in bed with me. even zeus, he laid beside my legs with his head resting on them. jupiter was nestled under my arms, nuzzling himself into my chest and turtle was just sprawled on top of my torso.

i laid there for what felt like 10 minutes, and could hear billie and shark making their way up here.

my eyes were closed, but i could feel her eyes on me. "you kinda look like a crazy cat lady, but with dogs" she giggled, i would've laughed or even smiled any other time, but i couldn't bring myself to.

i opened my eyes and saw her standing there, with shark hiding behind her legs, she walked over and settled herself behind me and shark between the two of us.

billie and i laid in bed all day, she'd do her best to talk to me but i'd shut it down. i felt bad but i didn't have the energy to talk to anyone at all, i hope i will tomorrow.

she was on her phone most of the day, and i would switch between napping, being on my phone and staring at the wall. she'd get up to bring me food and water, which i was grateful for.

it was pretty late now, around 10 or 11 i think, and she got up to go change into her pajamas.
i fell asleep before she came back though.

i woke up the next morning, billie was gone, but she came back in only moments later with two pancakes and water. i felt a little better this morning, so i got up, brushed my teeth and washed my face.

i sat back in my bed, with my back against the headboard. billie sat beside me and i ate both pancakes. i set the plate down and saw multiple messages from dani, izzy, noah and elliott.
