"Kate! It's not funny, I have to be on the court with you guys and be next to my sister!" yelped Kaci, holding the phone to her face. Kate's laughing and amused face was on her screen as the two were on FaceTime. "Ugh, and I don't own any coverage makeup. I never even use makeup!"
"Kaci, I'm sorry, but it's really funny!" laughed Kate. "But also, I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself!"
It was safe to say that Kate and Kaci had a little bit of fun last night, as Kaci slept over at Kate's. Kate invited her over to sleepover, so Kaci told Bri that it was a little sleepover with a bunch of girls. Not to make it suspicious at all. In reality, Kate wanted to cuddle and sleep with Kaci, minus the other activities they got into last night. It was supposed to be innocent, but the marks Kaci finally discovered on her neck when she got home were not so innocent.
"It's okay, I guess," sighed Kaci with a laugh. "I'm going to call Jojo and see what she has to say. She's a makeup connoisseur."
Kate chuckled, now looking up at her camera. "I'm really sorry, I swear. Let me know if I can get you anything."
Kaci smiled. "You're fine, Kate. I'll see you later, yeah?"
"Yes, ma'am," smiled Kate. "See you later, lover."
As soon as Kaci hung up, she swiped on Jojo's contact and immediately hit the FaceTime button. While Kaci was waiting, she decided to just have the camera focus on her neck so Jojo could catch on. After a few beats, Jojo's face came into view on her phone. It only took her two seconds before gasping probably one of the loudest gasps that Kaci had ever heard from Jojo.
"Kaci! Absolutely fucking not," laughed Jojo. "No way you have hickeys all over your neck before you have to be on the court in like three hours! And it's a home opener!"
Kaci chuckled, but then turned serious as she had to come clean. "Alright now, relax. I had fun last night-"
"Seems like more than just fun..."
"And I woke up, got myself dressed from Kate and Kara's, without looking in the mirror or camera. Then I get home and Bri is still sleeping, thank god," sighed Kaci, making Jojo laugh. "Then! I go in here to check why my neck and chest was feeling warm...then I see the hickeys!"
Jojo tried to stay serious and not laugh, but evidently failed. Jojo was practically cackling and wiping fake tears off of her face at this point.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," said Jojo, coming down from her laughing fit. "You need to fix that."
"Well, no shit!"
"Ugh, okay. Let me be helpful," sighed Jojo, making Kaci laugh and plop herself flat on her back in her bed. "Let's see, you need to go to like CVS and find the e.l.f color corrector. Specifically green, it'll balance out the purpled redness."
"Jo, I can't. Bri had my car taken to the shop after one of the headlights went out," sighed Kaci, beginning to get stressed. "And Bri hides the car keys at night, not from me but if anyone breaks in."
"You know, I've come to the conclusion that your sister is really fucking weird," said Jojo off topic, and Kaci only gave her a serious look which made her clear her throat. "Okay, now serious talk. Um, you can ask someone to get it? Maybe someone who will meet you at the game?"
A light bulb went on in her head. Knowing exactly who to ask.

"You really pulled me into a random closet with extra ball bags and jerseys?" said Kaci, standing in Kate's arms. "Also, this is a serious mission. Not a make out mission."
"You're no fun," whined Kate, in mocking disdain. She pulled out the color corrector pen from her shorts, as they were tucked in there so no one could see. The only person who knew about this whole thing was Caitlin, obviously. "Okay, show me my work."
Kaci looked in Kate's eyes, giving her an unimpressed look and then leaning her head back to show her neck to the max. The amount of love bites Kate left even surprised her, not even remembering how much she did.
"Jesus, am I secretly a vampire?" said Kate in astonishment, patting the color corrector on Kaci's neck and going over the multitude of marks. "Oh gosh, at this point your whole neck is covered in color corrector."
"Mmm, you should be glad that my chest is covered by this square neck top though," chuckled Kaci, making Kate smile. "This is only half of your work."
"Wait, let me see-" started Kate, moving her hands to the edge of Kaci's square neck top, obviously her goal being to lift Kaci's top off to see her chest. Kaci swatted her girlfriend's hands away.
"Kate! Be mindful of how much time you've been away by helping me cover up," chuckled Kaci. "And I promise to show you my chest covered in your work later."
Kate smirked, capping off the color corrector which was already half used with the way that she needed to use so much in order to cover the bruises. Kate pulled Kaci off the wall by her hips, both hands in her waist.
"Good girl," said Kate, her warm breath fanning over Kaci's face, who was now blushing. "Okay, see you after the game, Kace."
Kate left a kiss on Kaci's cheek, and the girl only stood there as she watched her girlfriend walk out the door. Kaci smiled to herself, whipping out her phone to check her neck and it was pretty much all clear. As Kaci, walked out of the closet door, she could only think about how Kate called her good girl. Maybe she wanted more marks now.

The girls successfully beat FDU for their home opener at Carver Hawkeye Arena. The arena roared with local fans and fans who traveled far to see the girls in their first official game of the season. And clearly, it was going to be a great season.
Kaci was capturing pictures today, and she captured fans and the girls. It was even better to see the coaches reactions of their home opener win, even though the win was a pretty obvious one as they were the stronger team.
Kaci was looking through her camera lens's as the girls circled up and cheered for their win, after fist bumping the other team. Kaci wouldn't admit it, but she honestly hated when she got approached by her sister after a win. She wanted to just people watch and lifting her camera up with a signal that she didn't want to be bothered. It was the equivalent of having headphones on, signaling no one should talk to you.
Kaci moved around and scanned, and her lens landed on her girlfriend. Even after a sweaty mess of a game, Kate still managed to look ethereal. At least to Kaci. The smile on Kate's face as she gave her captain speech made Kaci feel something else in her chest. And it wasn't a regular feeling she knew, but something foreign that she had never felt before. Then she lowered her camera from her face, realization coming to her head.
I think I'm in love with Kate Martin.
