Kaci was sat on the plane, in an aisle to herself as the team was traveling to Florida for the Gulf Coast Showcase. The Gulf Coast Showcase was one of their small side quests that the team would have this season, but it would be a fun one. Bri was sat in front of her and Kaci was thankful about having a row to herself. After all, the Hawkeyes had the plane to themselves. Kaci was sat forward, changing from her position of laying her legs along the seat and her nose is her book, Beach Read by Emily Henry.
Kaci was reading her book, immersing herself in January's plot when she felt her hair being pulled from behind her. Kaci felt her roots where they were pulled and with furrowed eyebrows, she turned behind her. She was met by Kate, a toothy smile and her blue eyes shining at her.
"Hello, hello," smiled Kate, before peaking over a Kaci's seat to see Bri who was passed out. "Can I sit by you? Even for a little bit..."
Kaci nodded, and Kate moved to go sit by Kaci who was up against the plane window. Kaci closed her book, and placed it back in her bag. Kate placed a soft kiss on Kaci's cheek, making the girl blush like crazy.
"What's up? Get bored?" chuckled Kaci, turning her body, so her left leg was folded up on the seat and the other rested regularly. "Or has Caitlin finally gotten on your nerves?"
Kate chuckled, looking back up at Kaci's face. She admired Kaci for a second, loving how the glow of the sun in the window almost illuminated her girl like an angel. She was practically glowing.
"Nah, she finally fell asleep!" chuckled Kate, making Kaci laugh as well. "I swear, with her energy I can't deal. I still don't see how Kara deals with it."
"Honestly, yeah. Even before she starts playing, her zoomies kick in and I can't focus my camera on her because of how much she moves," said Kaci, making Kate smile.
"True. Also, I'm glad you're on this trip with us. I know it was just supposed to be Bri, but I'm glad Jan gave you the OK to come with too," smiled Kate, putting her hand softly on Kaci's thigh, rubbing softly back and forth. Kaci smiled, knowing Jan is still trying to help this Kate and Kaci case. Ever since her little comments at the dinner they had a bit ago, Kaci knew she was very intentional about Kaci's presence and less of Bri's.
"I think it most definitely has something to do with your aunt," smiled Kaci, making Kate furrow her eyebrows in confusion but she still smiled.
"Jan? Oh gosh, what did she do now?" asked Kate, making Kaci laugh a bit at Kate's accusatory tone.
"Well, my sister and I had dinner with Bluder and Jan a while back," started Kaci, and Kate nodded following along. "And Jan proposed you as someone who is single after I told her I was single."
Kate's eye lit up and a smile. "Oh really? How nice of her."
Kaci chuckled at Kates humor. "Yep, she got really excited when I said I was single and I liked women."
"Mmm, honestly I didn't think you liked women when I first saw you," shrugged Kate, making Kaci furrow her eyebrows. "What? You're like a secret gay."
"Well, I do get that a lot to be quite honest," laughed Kaci. "Even my sister was surprised when I came out. She thought I was completely straight."
Kate smiled. "You're just very femme. Just how I like mine."
"Yeah, yeah, miss golden retriever," smiled Kaci, making Kate laugh. "Excited for the games?"
"Yes, but I'm honestly ready for Florida in general. I've been wanting to go for a while," shrugged Kate. "The weather is enticing."
"I see what you mean," said Kaci. "Sun and straight fears of a hurricane."
