Luo Ying turned away and looked out of the window. Her emotions were in a jumble.

The driver gently pulled up at the entrance of the villa.

“I'm not going in. It'll be a problem if I run into Lin Lu,” Luo Ying said while staring out the window, ignoring Lu Zhao.

“No, President Lu has always lived by himself.” The secretary explained quickly.

Lu Zhao had always forbade Lin Lu from coming here. His secretary even handled the majority of the company meetings.

Lu Zhao had been tightly gripping Luo Yings hand. She wanted to leave but could not, so she could only follow him out of the car.

The secretary escorted Lu Zhao into the living room, where they both sat. He turned around to look for the chef to cook some hangover soup.

Luo Ying tried to pull her hand free again. She frowned. “Lu Zhao, you're hurting me. Let go first.”

Lu Zhao loosened his grip. As expected, red lines had formed around Luo Yings wrist, but he still refused to let go.

“Will you leave if I let go?” The inebriated Lu Zhao, apparently unable to keep up his usual facade, asked helplessly.

Luo Ying desperately attempted to pry Lu Zhao's fingers free with both her left and right hands, but she was unable to do so. She was afraid of dislocating her right hand if she used more force.

Luo Ying sighed. “I'm not going anywhere. I swear I'm not going anywhere. Can you please let go first?”

The cook had just finished the hangover soup and brought it out.

Luo Ying noticed this and quickly coaxed Lu Zhao. “I'll feed you some hangover soup, okay? Let go first, or I wont be able to hold the bowl.”

Lu Zhao nodded obediently and let go of her hand, but his fingers did not forget to rub the red marks on Luo Yings hand.

From the red mark, an electric current rushed through Luo Yings entire body. Luo Ying glared at Lu Zhao. Is he still flirting with her? Was he acting drunk?

After finally regaining her freedom, Luo Ying shook the circulation back into her wrist. Lu Zhao had almost strangled her wrist.

The chef gingerly set the bowl of hangover soup on the coffee table and looked at the secretary. “Secretary Li, I usually clock out at eight.”

It was already ten in the evening. The secretary had called her in advance, so she had stayed until now.

Luo Ying didn't make things difficult for her. “Please go ahead. It's been hard on you. I'll take care of him.”

She had already promised Lu Zhao that she would not leave, so she would not go back on her word.

The chef was new and did not know Luo Ying. She turned to look at the secretary.

The secretary readily nodded. “Thank you, Ms. Luo Ying. We'll be leaving now.” Luo Ying was unlikely to harm Lu Zhao, especially since the villa was guarded bv bodvguards.

The living room fell silent after the secretary and the chef left.

“Lu Zhao, open your mouth.” Luo Ying took a spoonful of the hangover soup and blew on it.

“Ah—” Like a good little kindergartener, Lu Zhao complied by opening his mouth and even uttered an “ah”.

Luo Ying could not resist laughing aloud. Who would have guessed that President Lu, normally so icy and heartless, would resemble a child after a few drinks? The deep tone of Lu Zhao's voice was really too out of character with his innocent appearance!
