After working with Luo Ying for a few days, Xie Yun’s initial impression of her had shifted significantly.

He was a no-name actor with little to no experience. He detested working with actors who had history. They had a penchant for self-importance and enjoyed swaying public opinion. Every careless action can be magnified and misconstrued by them when posted online.

At first, he thought of Luo Ying as one of these people. Therefore, he took great care to steer clear of arguments during the first script reading session.

Yet, by the time they began shooting, Luo Ying had already shattered his perceptions to pieces.

She did an excellent job acting. The majority of the scenes were filmed in a single take. Xie Yun thought she was on par with any Hollywood heavy hitter.

She did not use her skills to excuse herself from the hard work, either. She had a slight fear of heights when hanging wires, which Xie Yun could see, but she was able to complete all sorts of shots by using her dexterous control. Luo Ying would not have told him about these cuts and bruises if he had not asked.

Xie Yun cleaned the wound, medicated it, and bandaged it with a piece of gauze.

“Please do not bandage it, it is fine. We still have scenes to shoot.” Luo Ying retracted her hand. “It might affect the filming.”

“Are you hurt?” Su Li walked over and asked.

“Director, can we avoid any closeup hand shots for the next scene?” Xie Yun asked.

“Give me a second.” Su Li rapped on the rolled up script in his hand. The next scene involved the male and female lead shaking off their pursuers and catching their breaths. “No can do. We need those shots. We could find a stunt double for her hand, but we might as well shoot a bandaging scene. It’s normal to get injured while fleeing!’

“You really make the best use of everything!” Luo Ying teased him.

“That works too.” Xie Yun agreed. This was just right.

The subsequent filming was unaffected by the injury. The days final scene wrapped up just before sundown.

“Pack up! We’re done!” Su Li let go of the script and smiled.

When Luo Ying finally reached the hotel, she sighed with relief and dragged her weary body inside. Later that night, Cheng Zhen hosted a barbeque for a group of well-known actors. She planned to freshen up with a shower before making the trip.

“Beep beep!” She inserted her card, and the door opened.

At that moment, a pair of hands reached out from behind Luo Ying and grabbed her arm. Suddenly, she felt herself being swept up into an embrace.

“Who is it?” A knot formed in Luo Ying’s stomach. Many possible kidnapping scenarios flashed through her mind in a split second.

But then the scent of sandalwood wafted up from behind her, and her tone changed to one of surprise. “Lu Zhao?”

“It’s me.” When the room’s lights finally came on after some blind groping for the switches, Luo Ying could see the person behind her clearly. It was indeed Lu Zhao

Luo Ying finally relaxed. The tension in her back melted away, and she relaxed into Lu Zhao’s embrace. “Why are you here?”

Lu Zhao’s embrace was reliable and warm, relieving Luo Ying’s fatigue.

Lu Zhao kissed her hair lightly and said in a muffled voice, “I’m here to watch the inter cast love affair.”

This was just a clickbait headline put together by dishonest websites in an attempt to attract more readers. However, when it came from Lu Zhao, who had always been so solemn, it was odd.

Luo Ying burst out laughing. “Why do you waste your time on such nonsense?

Without saying a word, Lu Zhao tightened his hold on Luo Ying’s waist.

“Alright, alright. Didn’t Yan Xin already release a statement to clear things up? He was chasing after Zhenzhen. I was just a witness of the whole act.” Luo Ying smiled and patted his arm. Lu Zhao couldn’t have come all the way here because he was jealous, right?

Lu Zhao was about to speak, but he caught sight of Luo Ying’s hand. His tone shifted abruptly. “What happened? Are you injured?”

He lifted Luo Ying’s palm and examined it carefully. There was no blood seeping from the gauze, so he could not tell.

“Yes, I accidentally scratched myself. The bleeding has already stopped. It’s not serious.” Luo Ying waved him off.

“Has the doctor taken a look at it?” Lu Zhao frowned.

“Uh,” Luo Ying suddenly hesitated and lowered her voice. “Xie Yun helped me apply medicine. There’s no need to go so far.”

“Who is Xie Yun?” Lu Zhao didn’t really care about the actors other than Luo Ying.

“It’s the male lead. It just so happens that Xiao Yu didn’t bring her first aid kit. He happened to have his nearby, so he helped me out.” Luo Ying explained in a low voice, but the more she explained, the more she felt that something was wrong.

“The male lead.” Lu Zhao’s tone became dangerous.

He supported Luo Ying’s career, but the idea of another man applying medicine on her made him very unhappy.

Suddenly, Luo Ying turned around and stood on her tiptoes to kiss Lu Zhao’s lips. She looked at him with eyes as coy as a deer’s. “It’s really just bandaging.. Don’t get jealous, okay?”
