What makes a good poem
Is it the rhyme?
Perhaps the rhythm?
Or simply the emotions evoked?
I often wonder this
As I sit and pour my heart
Onto the empty pages
Yearning for understanding
For empathy
My poetry is different
It speaks to the soul
It weaves a tapestry
Of shared experiences
Of tears shed in darkness
Of laughter that echoes in empty rooms
Of disappointment that lingers
Long after the hurt has faded
My poetry is a mirror
Reflecting back the rawness
Of human emotion
Of love and loss
Of hope and despair
So let me share my words with you
Let me invite you into my world
Let me show you that you are not alone
For my poetry is a lifeline
A beacon of light
In the darkness of our shared suffering
