After finishing my homework, Mum actually let me go to the skatepark with my friends; only for an hour but I'll take it. That hour went really fast however as I have just got home. I walk into the kitchen and see everyone in there already.

Brad is kneeling in front of Meghan loudly sobbing while the rest of them watch very uncomfortable.

"Why's he's crying now?" I ask anyone.

"I asked him to come to the Daddy-Daughter dance." Megan tells me. Oh. Hmm. That brings back some not so fun memories.

Specifically, my Dad left the day of the Daddy-Daughter dance and my Mum made me go with her. Little traumatising but definitely made worse by the fact kids are complete assholes and have reminded me of that night near enough every day since. So yeah, my experience of those dances are not the best.

Before I can say anything, Brad turns towards me.

"The leaflet says it's for all grades in Elementary and Middle School. Do you want to go too?" He asks, stepping closer.

"Ugh no. I'd literally rather walk barefoot up a mountain." I say, the idea disgusting me.

"Honey, don't be mean. It could be a nice evening with your sister and Brad. You three will have fun at the dance while me and Dylan go to a movie or something." Mum says. Dylan and Megan cheer while Mum sends me a look, clearly telling me I have no choice in the matter.

"Fine." I groan, already dreading it. Brad stands beside me and puts his arm around my shoulder.

"We are going to have so much fun!" Brad cheers as well. He looks down at me with a big goofy smile on his face.

"You've got five seconds to stop touching me before I break your hand." I warn. He knows I do not like him being this close to me, let alone touching me. A look of fear goes across his face as he retracts his hand.

"I'm sorry." He says with a big step to the side. "I got caught up in the moment and I thought–" I'm already over whatever it is he's saying so I walk upstairs to my bedroom.

This dance is going to be awful. Oh well, just another bad memory to add to the bank.
