June 24th, 1990

Seven months had passed since the incident between Kraven the Hunter, and Elektra remained actively engaged in her pursuit of justice. She returned to the New York Police Department, walking past the bustling reception and into the heart of the precinct. The city was as chaotic as ever, with gangs causing mayhem, murders awaiting resolution, and robberies unfolding regularly. Elektra, outside the precinct, used her late mother's Twin Sai—formidable knives—to incapacitate criminals as she glided through the city.

Her primary aim was to gather evidence, and for this, she poured pictures and documents on a board laid out at her desk. Each piece of information represented a crucial clue that she hoped would lead her to the next adversary, Hammerhead, and the enigmatic figure known as 'the Kingpin.'

"Miss Natchios, Captain Stacy wants a word," a police officer informed her.

Curiosity mingled with caution as Elektra walked down the hallway towards Captain Stacy's office. The blinds were closed; this was unusual for Captain Stacy, except during important meetings. Elektra knocked on the door.

"Come in," a gruff voice called from inside.

Upon entering, to her surprise, behind the desk revealed to be none other than General Ross. The Lieutenant General of the United States Army was an imposing figure with a no-nonsense attitude. Elektra learned about him through Victor, and she was aware of his formidable reputation and military background.

Confused and intrigued, Elektra greeted him, "General Ross?"

Confused and intrigued, Elektra greeted him, "General Ross?"

"It's been a while, soldier," General Ross replied. "Grab a seat."

"Whatever this is, General, it better be good because I'm a bit on edge—"

"I think I have the answers you're looking for about your parents' murder."

Hearing those words made Elektra's body freeze, and her frown deepened. The memories of that day flooded her mind once again. She smelled smoke, whiskey, gunpowder, and blood. That night, she witnessed the ruthless gunning down of her parents. But this discussion was different; he claimed to have the answers she had sought for so long.

She closed the door behind her from prying eyes and in a hushed voice asked, "What have you found, General?"

"Please, have a seat," he offered as she settled in, lighting his cigar and pouring himself a tonic gin.

"Sixteen years ago, the NYPD received a call about a fire and the murder of a couple in an apartment in New York," General Ross explained. "You, their daughter, were the only survivor. Last year, we uncovered evidence pointing to a potential suspect—Joseph Martello."

Elektra's anger simmered as General Ross showed her a picture of the suspect. Martello had a distinctive appearance, with black hair, blue eyes, and an unusually large, flat head adorned with scars.

"Two hours before the murder, we claimed CCTV footage of Martello waiting outside Keens Steakhouse with his clientele on 36th Street," he continued. "At precisely 2:36 a.m., Martello watched a BMW—your father's—and followed it back to where it all started. 3:14 a.m. Footage showed the same BMW passing the Steakhouse. And guess who drove that after the murder?"

Elektra studied the photo closely, connecting the dots with what Kraven had told her before his arrest.

"He's Hammerhead," she muttered, realisation dawning on her. "Kraven told me that another name was involved."

"That's right," General Ross affirmed. "And if we find Martello, we might just find the one pulling the strings."

A plan began to form in Elektra's mind, and she couldn't help but smile at the thrill of this new assignment.

"I'll sharpen my blades," she remarked, eager for the confrontation.

Upon preparing to leave the office, General Ross inquired, "You haven't heard from Victor Creed lately? I know you two were close last time I saw you."

Elektra's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly composed herself.

"Why?" She asked, trying not to betray any emotion.

"Seven months ago, you were the last person with him. Next thing you know, he ran himself off the grid," General Ross explained.

She had saved Victor's life, and now he vanished without a word?

Elektra tried to suppress her emotions as she responded, "Doesn't matter."
