The Milsy Wetlands didn't scare Y/n. Not in the slightest. They'd been to a place far more dangerous than the swamp. And yet, Hisoka insisted on "protecting" them. He knew they could handle it on their own. Of course he knew they could.

The fog began thickening as they continued to venture into the swamp. Y/n used Gyo to keep track of Satoz.

They could hear men talking behind them. It was about Hisoka.

"Darling?" Hisoka said, putting his hand on Y/n's head, "Come, let's go this way," He said as he turned to go into a clearing in the misty forest. Away from the pack.

"Why the hell are you picking a fight now of all times?" Y/n groaned, following him.

The jester and the puppet stopped in the clearing. Y/n scowled, obviously not wanting to be there, while Hisoka simply smiled, "I'm not picking a fight, dear," He said, his voice was smooth and sultry as always, "I'm simply stopping to smell the flowers. What's so bad about that?"

"Sure you are," Y/n scoffed.

The men who were speaking behind them before had followed the two into the clearing. They all pointed their weapons at Hisoka. Y/n had to admit, they felt a little left out. If they were going to be wasting their time, how come they weren't being threatened too? At least make it worth their while.

"You're not Hunter material," One man said. His clothes were a slightly lighter blue than the other men surrounding them. Y/n assumed that meant he was the leader, "I've been thinking that ever since we met last year."

"We'll spare your life if you promise you'll never take the Hunter Exam again," Y/n wanted to laugh. What an immature petty reasoning. Why was it their problem if someone became a Hunter? Y/n didn't get why they just had to stick their nose in something at had nothing to do with them.

Hisoka shrugged, "Sure, why not," He said, leading every person surrounding the two to gasp, "I intend to pass, so there's no need to retake it."

"Oh yeah?" The leader scoffed, "You idiot, just look at this fog. Do you really think you can figure out which way the main pack went in all this?"

Another man beside him nodded, "He's right! We all failed this year. No way we can catch up with everyone else."

"Oh," Y/n sighed, drawing attention to themself, "So you gave up your chance of becoming Hunters... just because?" They snickered, "What an idiotic thing to do."

Hisoka put his hand on Y/n's shoulder, "Indeed," He nodded, "You failed, and now you want to play Examiner?" His eyes scanned each of the men surrounding him, "Hunters require prey, so why don't I play the Examiner?"

Y/n groaned, "God.. this is so annoying.." They muttered under their breath.

"All of you gentlemen claim to be Hunter material," His voice lowered, "But I will be the judge..~"

The leader grunted, "You shut the hell up!" He said before leading his men into charge. Each of them ran up to the jester, brandishing their weapons.

Hisoka lifted his card. His arm was lifted just an inch above Y/n's head as he spun around, slicing each of the men's chests.

Blood squirted from the men's wounds. Some splattered onto Y/n's porcelain face, making them gag in disgust.

The leader was the only one left alive. He was moaning in fear. His entire body shook. He fell to his knees and began helplessly crawling away.
