I look back at Mia, who is now sitting at the desk.

As the first bell rings, I go to the front of the class to take my seat. Toby walks in and rushes to sit in the chair beside me.

"Where did you sneak off to last night ?!"

My eyes immediately shoot up to Mrs. Walton, whose eyes are already on mine.

I glanced down at my desk before I got lost in her ocean eyes.

"I went to the park."

I finally respond to him.

"Mhm."

He says, and I look up at him, squinting my eyes.

"Good morning class. I hope everyone did their analysis yesterday, because today everyone will be sharing what they thought the movie was about."

People groan.

"But before that we have a new student joining our class."

Mrs. Walton motions for Mia to come up and introduce herself.

She strolls in front of the class.

A few guys whistle as she makes her way past them. She looks over at me, and I smile at her.

"Go ahead."

Mrs. Walton tells Mia, who nods.

She puts her hair behind her ear and picks her head up from hanging low.

"Hello, I'm Mia . I transferred here from Summit High."

"Damn girl I would like to summit in you."

My face squished up at the remark. Who says that?

Mia's cheeks turn red, and she puts her head down. She begins to speed walk to her chair.

On her way back to her chair, she bumps into my desk.

"Sorry . I'm sorry."

She says rapidly.

I look up at her and roll my eyes with a smile.

"It's okay."

I tell her, and she walks back to her desk.

"Okay guys, we will be now begin sharing starting from the back-"

"Andrés!"

Destiny busts into the classroom, holding up my backpack in the air.

People laugh, and I groan and get up in embarrassment.

"Thank you ."

I tell her and snatch the bag.

She looks behind me and then back at me. I raise my eyebrows at her.

"Behave will ya ?"

She says, then winks at me and walks out of the class. I stand there for a few seconds before turning around and walking to my seat.

"What was that ?"

Toby asked me.

"Destiny. That was Destiny."

I told him.

I was a bit annoyed with her behavior.

A few people shared what they thought the movie was about, but have yet to listen. Most of them didn't pay attention to the movie, which was shown based on their responses. People like Justin were talking about God knows what. As bright as I may be, I can never comprehend what he says.
