Once I get inside and lock the door, I head back upstairs into my room. I slowly and carefully closed the room door. When I turn around, I see Mia sitting on the edge of the bed fidgeting with her fingers.
"Mia, are you okay ?"
She gets off the bed and hugs me. I'm caught by surprise so I stand here.
"I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have contacted Emily, and believe me when I say I didn't want to. I just didn't know what else to do."
I take a deep breath before gently pushing her away. I hold her at shoulder length.
"Thank you for caring Mia."
I tell her honestly. She gives me a small smile.
"Now, it's been a long dreadful day and I want to go to bed."
I walk past her, going to the dresser. I take off my clothes leaving me in my sports bra and boxers. I then grab some basketball shorts and put them on. I get in the bed and roll over to the wall. Mia turns off the ceiling light and turns on the sun lamp. We tell each other goodnight and I drift off to sleep.
Wednesday July 30th
Been almost two weeks since I found out that Mia seen my mom. I haven't heard from my mom in a while, I'm worrying about her. Me and Mia just left the cafeteria. I wanted to get some fruit and a water today before walking to the quad.
"So dad said he will teach you how to ride later."
"That's so exciting !"
I say with a big smile.
"I can't wait to watch you fall if I'm being honest."
She says with a small laugh. I bump my shoulder into hers. She pulls out her phone and sighs.
"What?"
"My phone is going to die and I left my charger in Mrs. Walton's room."
She said rolling her eyes.
"Well let's go get, we walk past her room anyways to get to the quad."
Mia groans as we stop in front of the closed door. We hear the familiar voices yelling and I sigh.
"Let's just make this fast."
She mumbles and I nod my head in agreement. I open the door for her and we walk in.
"You are using him knowing everything he's been through !"
Toby yells.
Me and Mia look at each other. They must not know we are right here.
"Don't you think if I could tell him I would ?!"
"Oh please. You could have been told him!"
Emily's eyes lock on mine and they widen.
"Toby."
She says in a warning voice and motions her head towards mine.
"Be honest for once in your life."
"Would you both just shut it for a minute!"
Mia yells and Toby turns around. I just stand there confused. Were they talking about me ?
"Mia-"
Mrs. Walton says.
"We just came to get my charger."
