*Sizzle*

Breakfast is almost ready; just need to finish up the fish.

I need to make sure Kanako is fully ready to leave today.

I need to get groceries by tonight.

I need to make sure Hiroki doesn't forget anything for school.

I need-

"Mornin' mom!" Hiroki exclaimed.

Just then, I was reminded why it was worth it to worry myself to death.

"Good morning, Hiroki~! How did you sleep last night?" I asked.

"P-Pretty good." Hiroki answered.

"That's great. Here, eat up! Got a big day ahead of you!" I say before presenting my finished meal.

Like the growing boy he is, Hiroki scarfed down the meal like it was his last.

"Mornin'!" Kanako descended the stairs, fully packed for the trip.

"You're already fully packed this early? That's... unlike you." Hiroki commented.

"It's a trip, bro! I gotta make sure to be ready for times like these. Also, what do you mean "unlike you"?" Kanako snapped back.

"I mean... I wasn't the one to wait out on doing their summer college assignment until the weekend before college." Hiroki clapped back.

*Smack*

"Hey! You guys won't see each other for a couple days, don't leave on bad terms!" I requested.

"Fine~." Hiroki and Kanako replied.

Kanako was loading up her bags into her car, while Hiroki and I said our goodbyes.

"Please make sure you're safe out there, got that? I don't wanna see you on the news." I worried.

"It's fine~! I'm going over to another town, not the middle of the woods! Besides, I'm more worried about y'all. That hurricane's gonna come by here around tonight, right?" Kanako stated.

"That hurricane... Kokujin, was it? It's a category one hurricane, we'll make it." I reassured.

Kanako finished up loading the car, and gave us farewell hugs.

"I know not having your trusty sister around might get you down, but I bet you guys will make it up once she's back, right?" I hoped.

Kanako gave a Hiroki a playful grin.

"Yeah! We'll definitely... make up for lost time~." Kanako teased.

Hiroki suddenly covered his face.

"Are you okay?" I was concerned.

"I-I got something in my eyes!" Hiroki explained.

"Haha! You should work on hiding your blushes, bro! This is just embarrassing~!" Kanako laughed as she entered her car.

She backed out of the driveway, and went off into the rising sun.

"Crap! I'm gonna be late to see Ayumu before school!" Hiroki panicked.

Hiroki got a running start and went full throttle away from me.

"You lovebirds have a good school day~!" I jested.

"Mom~!" Hiroki groaned in the distance.
