Hiroki POV
Two days later...
*Beep beep beep*
My eyes crack open just barely enough to let me hit snooze on my phone.
I need five more minutes.
Leaving such warmth might be too much for me.
Warmth... warmth... warmth?
T-The hell?
*Yawn*
"Huh~? Don't leave yet~!" a familiar voice begged.
I peered over to my side to see a drowsy Kanako accompanying me.
"K-Kanako? When did you crawl in with me?" I questioned.
"I had a hard time sleeping, so I decided to snuggle up~!" Kanako grinned.
"I... okay. I gotta get up anyway, it's a school day." I waved off.
Before I could get up, Kanako snatched my arm and pulled me into her embrace.
"Nope! As your superior, I demand five more minutes~!" Kanako giggled.
I saw how infutile it would be to argue back, so I caved in and snuggled with Kanako until my alarm went back on.
...
After eating some breakfast, I made my way out the door and ran towards one of my favorite parts of the day.
Yet... she wasn't there.
Maybe she's just late?
I know she can defend herself, but I hope nothing bad-
"Guess who~?"
Suddenly, two hands covered my eyes, though I wasn't worried as to who was doing it.
"I missed you too, Ayumu." I replied dryly.
She moved her hands to my waist and pulled me into an encompassing hug.
"It's been too long since I've seen you last! I need my daily supply of Hiroki!" Ayumu chirped.
"Didn't we hang out for hours yesterday?" I asked.
She hugged tighter.
"Yeah, and the wait was too long! You're gonna have to make up for it today~!" Ayumu requested.
"Hehe! Alright, alright!" I exclaimed.
We began our walk to school, passing by the various levels of wreckage from the hurricane.
"Oh! I nearly forgot to ask ya! How did you hold up during the hurricane?" I wondered.
"We were fine. One of our windows did break from a branch, but nothing too bad at the end of the day. You?" Ayumu replied.
"The hurricane didn't hit us too bad. Never even broke anything at the house. I just spent most of my time... um... doing some family bonding." I slipped out.
"Oh? Me too! I played a bunch of board games with my parents and binged our favorite sitcoms! What did you do?" Ayumu was curious.
"We... also did stuff like that. Mostly just watching movies and shows." I explained.
"Okay. I'm just glad we were able to make it out unscathed! I don't know if I could stand either of us being injured!" Ayumu exhaled.
"Same. The thought of you being hurt hurts me even more." I let out.
"Nah, it hurts me even more." Ayumu countered.
"Nope, hurts me more." I defended.
"Bull, hurts me to the ends of the Earth." Ayumu rebuttled.
