"Oh. My. Gawd! You would not believe what Aoi has been saying about Emi!" one of my friends gossiped.
"Isn't that the girl from your ethics class?" another friend chirped in.
"Yup! And she's been badmouthing Emi!" the friend replied.
"No way! Spill it!" a different friend requested.
*Crack*
"Gah! S-Shit... sorry. I'm not really used to storms like these." the friend said.
"Yeah. It could be worse though! It's raining even harder at our home town. That reminds me, Kanako?" another friend peered at me.
"Huh?" I was taken out of my head.
"You've been spacing out for a little bit! What's up?" the friend questioned.
"Oh! Just a little worried, that's all! I hope my mom and bro are standing strong against this hurricane!" I exclaimed.
"Don't worry~! They're probably doing alright!" my friend cheered me up.
"Hmm. I'll be right back." I stand up and head to another room.

I go to my contacts and call mom.

"Kanako?" Kaede answered.
"Hi mom! Is everything going A-okay over there?" I worried.
"Yeah! We're doing good! How about you?" Kaede responded.
"I'm doing fine too. The hurricane is not doing too damage to you guys?" I asked.
"Not really. We did have a couple scares, but nothing major. Thanks for worrying though, I appreciate that!" Kaede said.
"No problem! I'll be back tomorrow, so... don't die on me, okay?" I teased.
"Oh please~! I should be the one anxious about you right now. I have, I am, and I will be fine." Kaede reassured.
"Okay, okay~! Well, I'll see ya~!" I stated.
"See you tomorrow, honey~!" Kaede replied before hanging up the phone.

*Yawn*
"Wow! It's nearly midnight! I think we should catch some Z's, right baby?" I asked.
"Is it okay if I finish this movie first? It's starting to get really good!" Hiroki begged.
"I... there's nothing going on for the both of us tomorrow, so sure... on one condition though." I stated.
"What condition?" Hiroki wondered.
I took a seat next to him on the couch, wrapping my arm around him.
