"I fear nothing of ghosts
for what
is more haunting
than love"
- Olivia Ann Rose

Belarus

ELINA HAD CONVINCED herself that she had finally escaped the weight of her sister's betrayal, that the shadows of deceit and broken trust had long since receded into the distant corners of her past. She had believed, naively perhaps, that the secrets-those heavy, suffocating secrets-had been buried for good. That she was free from the web of lies spun by those she had once loved, those she had once trusted with her heart.

But the truth, as it always does, has a way of clawing its way to the surface. And so, Elina shut herself away. She fled again, as she always did when the world became too much, when the pain of betrayal became too sharp to bear. She hid from the few who remained, those who still cared, those who still saw her for who she was beneath the cold exterior she had carefully crafted.

For a long time, the darkness had been her refuge, her sanctuary. She had thought that if she stayed in the shadows long enough, if she kept her distance from everyone, the ghosts of her past would eventually fade. But then, something happened. Something she thought she had left behind forever.

A name.

Petyr Kovotsky.

The name echoed in her mind like a distant bell, a reminder of unfinished business, of a mission she had failed years ago. She had buried it deep within herself, convinced that it was a chapter closed, a story that had been written and sealed away. But now, with the sudden resurfacing of that name, everything she thought she knew about her past was thrown into question.

This name-this ghost-was no longer a relic of the past. It had ties to her present, to the life she had tried so hard to rebuild. And with it came a new purpose, one that Elina hadn't realized she was still capable of feeling. The mission that had slipped through her fingers all those years ago was calling her back, demanding to be finished. It was as though the universe had decided that she wasn't done yet, that her past wouldn't be so easily outrun.

She would have to face it.

But this time, she wouldn't be facing it alone.
