I drove to her house early in the morning the next day just to spend some time with her. As I pressed the breaks in front of her house, I noticed that none of the guards were there. Quickly getting off, I scanned the area but not even a single one was present there. I panicked for a moment and rushed inside the gates only to find that her front door was wide open too.
"Adhvita"
I said under my breath getting worried as my heart began to race. I ran inside panicking but palmed my face at the sight. "Seriously Adhvita?" I muttered capturing my lovely girlfriend in a lilac saree serving biscuits and tea to all her bodyguards. And they were no less. They were equally enjoying their morning tea and laughing loudly after cracking some jokes.
"Have some more Tarun bhaiya," she said forwarding the plate of biscuits to one of the guards. He took the entire plate and placed it in front of himself. Taking the white porcelain teapot, she poured tea in one of the guards' cups.
"Come sit Adhvita. And you know what I did after?" The one sitting at the farthest end began talking while patting the empty chair next to him. She went and sat on it. "Meine yu usko pakda aur yu patka aur yu usko masal diya," he narrated with elaborated hand gestures, and they all again broke into laughter. I have been standing by the door watching this drama for the past fifteen minutes now and no one even glanced towards the me.
(I held him like this and threw him like this and crushed him like this.)
I coughed to get their attention, and all their heads turned towards the door. Their laughter died down that instant making the room go silent.
"Saanjh," she squealed getting up from the chair, and I walked near the table where they all were sitting.
"Shut your eyes everyone," I ordered while nearing Adhvita, and they all followed. One put an empty plate in front of his face to block the view and one of them put a serviette cloth on his face while the rest of them covered their eyes with their hands.
"Morning love," I said putting my arms around her waist and leaned in for a kiss.
"Morning jaan," she said detaching away and giving me her warm smile. I left a kiss on her cheek which made her blush. I pinched her nose lightly as she looked adorable with those pink cheeks.
"You can open your eyes now," I asserted moving away from her and I could hear their audible sighs of relief. "You know you almost got them all fired," I said to Adhvita and she frowned at my statement.
"Why?" She asked.
"I didn't see any of them outside the house and the door was wide open too. And what is all this? Does this happen every morning behind me?" I said in a scolding tone looking at everyone and they began to look here and there, trying not to meet my gaze.
"Yes it does," she said and pulled on my arm dragging me behind her. "Sit now," she said taking a chair out for me. I settled in at the orders of my girlfriend and placing an empty cup in front of me, she poured out the tea. "Garam garam chai lijiye, aur dimaag ko thanda kijiye."
