"ADHVITA."

I heard her father's panicked voice, which made me turn around instantaneously. I saw her figure lying on the floor unconscious as her dad upheld her upper body with the support of his arm.

I forgot to take another breath and rushed towards her. I kneeled next to her unconscious self, taking her out of her father's arms into mine. "Adhvita," my voice shivered as I called her out. The tears that I was trying so hard to hold in came out all at once scanning her pale face. I picked her up in my arms without giving it a second thought and advanced towards her room.

"Call the doctor Maan," I heard mother say as I kept rushing towards her room, up the stairs. My eyes didn't leave her face even for a moment. I placed her down carefully on the bed, kneeling next to her head on the ground.

"Adhvita," I placed my palm against her cheek and held her hand with the other one. "Wake up love, please. Look your Saanjh is standing in front of you. Please open your eyes love," I begged. My tears were constantly flowing out as she refused to respond to my pleads.

My eyes moved from her face to the door when I heard footsteps and saw the doctor walk into the room followed by her parents after some time. Nearing her, the doctor began examining as I kept holding onto her hand firmly, waiting for her to give me something. I could hear the sniffles of her mother in the silence of the room.

"Mr. Raizaada," she spoke putting the stethoscope around her neck and I looked up at her. "Can we talk for a moment?" I nodded, placing her hand back on the bed gently and cleaning off my face. I stood up from the ground, preparing myself mentally for whatever she had to say. "See, a woman's body is already under stress when she is pregnant. On top of that, any severe trauma, be it physical or mental, can exacerbate her condition and put her at a risk of miscarriage. I would suggest that you eliminate any sort of stress that she might be experiencing. Everything else is normal otherwise but make sure to bring her for routine gestational checkups and tests."

"Thank you doctor. I will make sure of that," I said. "I'll drop you to the door."

We both walked out the room, leaving her parents there with her. After seeing her off, I returned to the room only to hear Adhvita's loud cries coming from there. I stood at the door as my eyes fell on her figure clung to her father, hiding her face in his chest. He was sitting next to her on the bed while her mother was standing by them. "Why did you let him go papa?" She sobbed. "I'd die without a bullet this time."

I cleaned off my eyes that were full of tears as I didn't know if I should take a step towards her or backwards. If I move towards her, I risk her life and if I don't, I put hers and our baby's life in danger. Either way, I lose a part of me.

Her father rotated his neck in my direction and signalled me to come in. My feet moved unsteadily towards her. Feeling my presence, she came out of her father's embrace and her eyes that were soaked in tears fell on me. "Saanjh," she managed a feeble smile between her tears. Her father got off the bed, allowing me sit next to her. She instantly hugged me, gripping my shirt at the front between her fists and began crying out loud. "You came back," she spoke against my chest, drenching my shirt with her tears for the second time today. "You won't go away from me now right? You came back for me right? And our baby?"
