Makomo, alongside the majority of her classmates, waited with All Might in a separate building equipped with CCTV viewing screens. Iida, Bakugou, Uraraka, as well as Midoriya were in a building located away from them as they proceeded with their battle trial.

Makomo didn't really care. She wasn't trying to be mean or cocky, but she was confident in her skills. She knew she had the ability to overpower her classmates with ease. She also had a basic grasp of their quirks and their usage of their superpowers, from the Quirk Assessment, so she wasn't worried about compromising her grade.

She chose to sit on the floor near the back. Beside her, Sero followed.

"Hey, Izumi? You got a plan?"

"Hm? Not yet. We don't even know who we'll be facing," she laughed. "But, I guess we can formulate a rough idea. I mean, the battles before us are people we won't be fighting, so we don't have to watch." Makomo explained.

Sero hummed, nodding along.

"So..."

"..."

Sero paused at the lack of reply. It stayed silent for a few more moments before his partner shifted.

"I'm going to bed. Wake me up when it's our turn."

"Hello?!"

Thirty-seven minutes later, All Might drew their team, meaning it was their time to battle. Upon seeing this, Sero shook Makomo awake.

"Hey, morning. We're against Tokoyami, Asui, and Kirishima." He said softly.

Makomo lifted her eyelids, yawning as she stretched her arms above her head. "Heroes or villains?" She asked, voice slightly raspy. She licked her lips.

"We're the villains." He extended a hand for her to clasp. "C'mon, we got fifteen minutes to set it up."

She took his hand, standing up with another yawn. "M'kay."

The faux building was much larger than Makomo anticipated. If she were to guess, she would say her quirk would only work within two-thirds of the building. She thought carefully about it.

"Hey, can we put the nuclear weapon on the higher levels? I can slowly obstruct their vision as they go up."

"Hm? Sounds like a plan! Ooh, what if we make a trap using my tape? Your moisture control can cause the adhesive to stick less!"

Makomo smiled at her partner. "Yeah! Great idea!"

The two quickly got to work, breaking off small pipes and pieces of metal as Sero loosely taped them up near the stairwell. Makomo guided droplets of moisture hanging in the air towards the tape, before creating a small smoke screen. They continued this on the way to the top floor. While the booby traps decreased in frequency, Makomo increased the amount of fog and smokescreens to minimize the vision of their opponents.

"Hey, Sero? Tape the door leading to the bomb. Time's almost up, so we should probably focus on our battle strategy," she said.

He nodded in agreement, "You're the boss!" Using his quirk, he barricaded the door.

Makomo gently wrapped a hand around his wrist, guiding him to a nearby window. "Let's go outside, so they don't realize where the weapon is." She opened the glass pane, conjuring a cloud. She helped Sero onto it before hopping on, shifting it to flow towards a nearby window. They snuck in, closing the window behind them as they re-entered the building.

"I say you take Asui, and I can handle Tokoyami and Kirishima." She said.

"Huh? You sure you don't want to switch?"
