Camp Cretaceous

Wyoming

A woman walked around her kitchen with her cell phone to her ear. She hung it up letting out a grunt of frustration. She heard her door open and sighed as she heard her brother walk in.

"Hey sis." Her brother said in his usual goofy tone. She turned and glared causing him to frown.

"That bad?" The man asked.

"What do you think Dave?" Rachelle asked her brother. "A boy stole his..."

"Got it. Look. Let me talk to him." Dave suggested. Rachelle nodded prompting Dave to walk upstairs towards his nephew's room. He knocked lightly on the door.

"Go away mom." A male voice ordered.

"Hey bud. It's Uncle Dave." Dave said trying to sound lighthearted. "Can I come in?"

His nephew said nothing for a few seconds.

"Fine" Patrick said prompting Dave to slowly open the door. He saw his nephew staring at the ceiling in his usual jacket and baggy pants.

"You know you don't have to hide it from me." Dave said softly. Patrick said nothing causing Dave to sigh. "So. Word is you like dinosaurs."

Patrick's eyes went wide before looking down in shame. Dave put a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Hey, hey. I like Dino's too man." Dave said smiling. "Look, I got this job at Jurassic World. If you want, I can get you a spot in an exclusive tour of the park."

Patrick turned to face his uncle.

"Will there be, people there?" Patrick asked, causing Dave to frown.

Isla Nublar

One Week Later

As I exited the ferry, I couldn't help but admire the beauty of the water. It was pure blue, and I couldn't help but smile internally. I looked over towards Dave, who was standing in front of the other five kids. I stood next to the girl with brown hair. My nerves were firing as I tapped my right heel against the dock looking among the kids nervously.

"Welcome to Isla Nublar Campers! You are some of the first campers in the entire world that gets to experience the awesomeness that is Camp Cretaceous." Dave announced causing excitement. "I know the trip from the mainland was rough on some..."

He turned to one of the kids who was puking over the side of the dock.

"Hello Ben." Dave said. Ben turned around with a thumbs up. "But you made it! I'm Dave, head counselor. You heard that correctly, head honcho, big shot..."

"Ah, sorry I'm late." She yelled in a British accent. "Welcome Campers!" "I'm Roxie, head counselor of Camp Cretaceous."

She walked up past us until she spotted me.

"Good to see you, Palmer!" She exclaimed.

She nodded awkwardly causing her to just stand next to Dave.

"I'm Roxie, head counselor of Camp Cretaceous." she introduced herself.

Everyone looked between the two confused causing Dave to chuckle.

"Well, it's sort of a co-head counselor situation." He explained nervously.

"Is it?" Roxie asked amused.

Dave cleared his throat and continued explaining the camp's whole deal which I wasn't really paying attention to until the pink-haired girl turned her camera towards me, causing me to look away nervously.
