Last Day of Camp

The sirens blared loudly. Everyone, except for Ben and Yasmina, regrouped quickly.

"We can make the last ferry if we run south right now," Darius urged, his voice tense with urgency.

Sammy glanced over her shoulder, noticing Yaz limping as she ran towards them. "Uh..." she started, concerned.

"I'm fine! I've completed with a torn ACL before," Yaz insisted, brushing off the concern. "You should be more worried about Ben and Bumpy,"

Ben, who was panting heavily as he struggled to keep up.

"What we should all be worried about is catching a boat out of here! Naturally, we have a problem," Ben interjected. "The south docks are on the other of the island. There's no way we'd get to the last boat on time."

"You don't know that!" Sammy shot back.

"I've looked over the evacuation plan like ten times!" Ben yelled, exasperated, before sighing in frustration.

Groans erupted from the group as the fear of missing their chance to escape took hold.

"Uh, can we use the kayaks to get there? Or maybe get someone to wait for us? Or..." Darius began, his mind racing for solutions when Brooklyn cut him off.

"Or make a few jet packs real quick? Oh! We should befriend a unicorn!" she said sarcastically. "It's hopeless, Darius."

Suddenly, the sound of a vehicle approaching caught their attention. They turned to see the monorail moving across the rail above the lagoon.

"Yes!" Patrick shouted in excitement.

"Monorail! Whoo whoo!" Kenji cheered.

"Hm. Nicely played, universe," Brooklyn remarked.

"Come on!" Darius yelled, leading the group up the stairs.

Patrick turned to Yaz who was still limping.

"Are you okay?" Patrick asked, concern evident in his voice.

"I'm okay," Yaz replied, trying to reassure him.

At the top of the stairs, Darius raised his hand, signaling for quiet.

Patrick turned and saw Toro looking around. He let out a roar. once he turned away the group quietly made their was towards the staircase leading to the monorail. the quietly walked up trying to avoid making a sound.

Patrick sighed in relief as they approached the monorail station. The monorail arrived, and they quickly boarded.

Patrick sat down at the front of the car next to Yaz. "We're going home," he said softly.

"Something must go wrong, right!? We'll suddenly stop?" Kenji fretted, paranoia kicking in.

"Dude, just live in the moment," Patrick advised, causing Kenji to reluctantly sit down behind him and Yaz. Yaz looked up at Patrick, her smile lingering.

"So... anyone hungry?" Ben announced, pulling out seven chocolate bars.

"Oh, sweet!" Brooklyn exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.

"I'm starving!" Sammy shouted, her enthusiasm matching Brooklyn's.

"Our little Ben is useful," Kenji quipped with a grin as everyone took a bar from Ben's outstretched hand.

A Few Minutes Later

The group recoiled in disgust as they tasted the bars, all except Ben.

"Uh, Ben, someone stole your chocolate bars and filled them with dirt," Sammy said, wiping her mouth with a grimace.
