Episode 8: End of The Line

Monorail

"HOLD ON! I GOT YOU!" Darius screamed, trying to pull Ben up.

"DARIUS HELP!" Ben screamed in terror.

"BEN, I GOT YOU!" Darius shouted.

Just as Ben slipped out of Darius's grasp, Darius caught him with his other hand.

Darius let out a sigh of relief and began to pull Ben up, but just before he could, another Pteranodon hit Ben, knocking him out of Darius's grasp.

"BEN!" Darius screamed as Ben fell to his demise, looking back up at Darius in pure terror, two Pteranodons flying down after him as he disappeared into the tree line.

Everyone stared down at the trees, unable to believe what had just happened. It was only when Bumpy let out a mournful cry that let the reality sink in.

"He's gone," Yasmina said somberly.

"I won't believe it!" Sammy cried, looking down.

"Sammy..." Yaz said, trying to comfort her, but Sammy just let out a sob.

Darius looked down at the palm of his hand and made a fist in anger and regret before noticing the direction the Monorail was going.

"The monorail's going back!" Darius yelled, gaining everyone's attention.

"What?" Patrick asked, still staring at the ground below.

"When we switched tracks, we ended up on one heading north!" Darius yelled in panic as he ran to the control panel. "We're not going to the south docks, we're going away from them! Doesn't anything here work? We have to get off!"

"The tracks dip down up ahead! We can jump from there!" Brooklyn yelled.

"What?!" Kenji exclaimed.

"We can't—it's too far down!" Yaz argued.

"We have no choice!" Darius pointed out, getting ready to jump.

"One..." Darius counted.

Patrick clenched his fist.

"Two..." he continued.

"Now!" Darius ordered, and they all jumped off, falling down through the trees. Everyone groaned once they hit the ground.

"You okay, Yaz?" he questioned the track star.

"I'm okay," she responded.

They both got up and looked around. Darius and Brooklyn were on the ground next to each other. Sammy and Kenji both emerged from nearby bushes.

"Everyone alright?" Darius asked.

"Bumpy. Where's Bumpy?!" Kenji asked, panic in his voice. "I lost her when I hit the ground! Bumpy!"

"Quiet! We Toro's still out there," Patrick warned.

"We gotta look for her, don't we?! And Ben! They could still be..." Sammy began, but Yaz interrupted, walking forward.

"How? We don't even know where they are!" Yaz pointed out, but suddenly she fell to the ground, grunting in pain.

Sammy helped Yaz to her feet, the trackstar looking around the jungle panicked

"Attention, all park goers must report to the dock. Last ferry depars in one hour."

"no way we'll get ther in time, it's way too far!" Yaz said.

"But, Bumpy and Ben..." Sammy started.

"We cant go back for Ben!" Brooklyn yelled. "Ben's... gone..."
