Night. What a sickening tension filled Julie's chest once the darkness lured around her. The enemies it's hiding, like a two faced monster. Giving you all the silence in the world, only to let your guard down and let its creeps to drag you into their path.
Julie feared the night, yet her insides craved it. A glimpse of silence to recollect her pieces maybe even finally turn them into a puzzle. But as she stuck for too long in one piece, the picture melted into an old memory she couldn't recall and her thoughts began to devour her.
This night was different, though. Fear, uncertainty and cowardice were the words to describe her entrance. Small against all the people that actually seemed to have fun. What a weird word, fun! Maybe she had felt it in her childhood, but the darkness after that seem to have drowned the idea of fun in its darkest corners.
A silk dark red little dress enhancing Julie's figure, her curly hair the epitome of ethereal. Smoke filled her lungs, the bitter taste of cigarette stinging her nose. She never smoked, but just breathing the air felt the same to her.
Young bodies lingering at the song's rhythm. Flynn's hand found her friend's pulling her deeper into this throng. People bumping into her, the lack of apology making her roll her eyes in despair.
Flynn greeted a few people in the way, twisting them and laughing along. Julie was just there. She felt like she didn't belong, and she might of radiated that feeling to the others. Her eyes always seeking for an escape, her muscles tensed.
"Oh come one, Jules, don't be so miserable." Her friend whispered in her ear.
They had reached the center of the living room, a large space— its furnitures clearly moved. The girl that was throwing this party, Julie was certain her name was Jessica, must of been too rich; her house was a mansion with all its charm.
Julie tried to move her body along to the music that was erupting, subtle movements following.
She leaned towards her friend, her voice loud, "Want a drink?" Flynn quickly nodded eagerly, holding up two fingers and laughing about it. Julie sighed, managing a small grin, and made her way to the makeshift bar. Flynn didn't lose a moment and now she was dancing with some random faces, Julie had never seen before.
The colorful bottles, illuminated by flickering lights, played tricks on her vision. Her hand hovered over the pink cups, her gaze glued on the tequila when a voice startled her..
"What's you drinking?" The sudden interruption of her thoughts, made her cup almost slip from her hands. A boy's laugh followed, amusement hanging on his face. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He, then, continued.
When Julie noticed the familiar figure, a knot appeared in her stomach; the one that makes your throat close. She blinked multiple times in surprise and slowly, the corners of her mouth lifted.
