Still waiting, hands shaking

Maybe the coast will clear

But these voices, these strange noises

They followed me in here

Max woke up, back in the room, back in that house. But the bodies of her friends were gone. She could hear the creature prowling on the other side of the door. She watched through a hole in the wood, waiting for it to leave. Her hands were shaking and she didn't know how to stop it, it was annoying. Max couldn't hold the door handle if she didn't want it to make noise from how bad the shaking was.

She thought she could faint voices, but she didn't know who they belonged to. They sounded worried and in pain. Max tried to tune them out and focus on the creature so she could make a break for it.

Max jumped up as the creature disappeared, and the voices stopped. Max should've been more worried about all this, but she didn't care anymore. She just wanted out.
