Welcome to the panic room

You'll know I wasn't joking

When you see them too, see them too

Max was back in the hospital bed. Dustin was still there, but Robin had joined him. They both looked worried.

"What happened?" Max asked, ready to make a break for it if another one of her friends was hurt.

"You passed out after claiming you saw Eddie, and then your heart rate dropped!" Dustin exclaimed. "I thought you died!"

"What?!"

"You're fine now," Robin assured her. "The doctor ran some tests, your body is still recovering from all the trauma of the Upside Down, but you should be fine in about two weeks."

"That's what they said last time, that was three months-" Max cut herself off. Vecna was standing right behind Robin, a hand around her throat. His fisting closing, and-

"NO!" Max took another syringe and hurled it at Vecna, only for him to disappear and the syringe to get stuck in a wall.

"Not again. It took me five minutes to get the last one out!" Dustin complained.

"What did you see?" Robin asked.

"Vecna! He was right behind you! He-" Max stopped and groaned. "I'm going crazy! Great! One more thing to add to the list of souvenirs I got from the Upside Down."

"Everything's going to be okay, Max."

"No, it's not! Steve and Will are missing! The Upside Down is at the edge of town, but nothing's happened! I've been stuck in this stupid hospital bed for four years in a coma, and now I going crazy! Nothing will ever be okay!"

Max couldn't breathe. It felt like the room was closing in around her. She could hear the heart monitor start freaking out as her pulse escalated drastically. She was having a panic attack. She could hear Robin and Dustin trying to calm her down, but their words were fuzzy. Her vision was going blurry.

She couldn't breathe...

She couldn't hear...

She couldn't see...

She was panicking...

And then it all went black...
