18 Hours Later.
Adam paced outside the room, it was all a blur.
"Mr Ruzek, you need to calm down" the nurse said as the room suddenly became tense.
"What's going on, why isn't the baby crying?" Adam asked, Kim unable to speak, overcome with fear.
"I need to know if my baby is okay, somebody needs to start talking!" he yelled, he felt Kim grab his hand.
"Calm down, please" she was terrified and seeing Adam so frightened didn't help.
He watched as the doctor lifted the baby in his arms and took off for the NICU.
"Your baby is having difficulty breathing, the NICU is the best pace for your baby right now" the doctor placed his hand on Kim's head "try not to worry mom, that baby is in good hands"
Adam sat in the chair, "go with the baby, please Adam" Kim begged him, the thought of the baby being alone made her want to scream.
Adam stood, "I don't want to leave you" his hand on her cheek.
"I'm okay, please go"
He kissed her, "our baby will be okay, I love you"
"I love you too"
"Hey, Adam!" Phil yelled as he spotted Adam outside the NICU, "what's going on?"
Adam stopped pacing, "I don't know, no one is telling me a damn thing" he rested his elbows on the window sill, "Kim's terrified, the baby wasn't crying Phil" his voice trailing off.
The door leading out of the NICU finally opened, the doctor stepped out.
"Mr. Ruzek?"
Adam quickly joined the doctor, Phil at his side.
"Is my baby okay?" Adam asked.
