I was sitting in the wooden chair outside the house watching a green scenery in front of me. Somehow being here relaxes me, hearing the birds sing, the fresh air and the serenity in it. Despite the tranquility I couldn't shake the fact that I'm here because of my stubbornness.
Siguro if I'm not that stubborn Hindi ako mapapatapon Dito, after all it was still my fault Wala dapat Akong sisihin kundi Ang Sarili ko.
I snap back to reality when someone called me from afar.
"Ilara!" It was Gie-gie running towards me leaving Lola behind. Somehow Lola and Gie-gie's presence make me comfortable here. I don't have a real friend in Manila yes a friend maybe but I know na kinaibigan lang nila Ako for something.
"Hi! Nagustuhan mo ba Dito? Pasensya na Hindi kita masasamahan Dito araw-araw na sa baryo pa Kasi Ang Bahay namin eh " she said as she sat down beside me.
" It's okay Gie-gie...and I...like it here Naman ....somehow" half lie, yeah I like the view in here but...no I don't even want to think of it, nakokonsensya lang Ako.
"Buti Naman kung Ganun...pero wag Kang mag-alala sa pasokan sigurado Akong magkikita na tayo parati... senior high ka na Rin diba? " talking about studying I wonder kung saan Ako mag-aaral?
" Yes I wanted to take ABM though " nagulat Ako ng bigla niyang takpan Ang kanyang bunganga.
" Nako Wala g ABM Dito Ilara Tanging HUMSS, TVl lang kasali na Doon Yung ICT , HE , at AFA " what ?! Hindi kompleto Yung programs? What program should I get then?
" Oh Angie ito na Yung mga kalamansi na ipapatinda ko sa mama mo bukas , umuwi ka na Rin at mag gagabi na " Lola suddenly show up somewhere and handed the bag full of kalamansi.
" Sige po Lola... oh pano ba Yan Marie uuwi na Ako kitakits nalang bukas sa palengke....Lola Mauna na po Ako" she said as she bid her goodbye Kay Lola at sa akin.
" Pasok na apo kakain na tayo " I stand up and follow Lola in the house kaagad Akong upo sa upuang gawas sa kahoy, Lola placed a bowl os tinola I guess? And a plate of rice.
I was about to get a rice when Lola cleared her throat.
" Mag pray muna tayo apo ha ...kailangan nating magpasalamat muna sa panginoon para sa mga biyayang ito" when Lola finished praying we happily eat our dinner.
I decided to take a bath so I get my towel and the things that I needed and use my phone as a flashlight. Buti nalang at may kuryente Dito Kasi if Wala I don't know what to do anymore.
"Lola I'll just take a bath po" Lola lifted her head to glance at me first and read again the Bible.
" Hindi ka ba natatakot? Gusto mo bang samahan kita?" Lola asked with gentleness I her voice.
" Wag na po Lola , I'm not afraid Naman po"
" Oh Sige bilisan mo lang apo ha at matulog na Ako Maya Maya"
It's been ten minutes since I started taking a bath I just don't feel like stoping even though I'm just using a tabo and a pail. The freshness of the water calms me kaya parang ayaw ko ng tumigil .
Pero napatigil Ako sa pag sasabon when I heard a sound it's like " Tik Tik Tik Tik" but I just shrugged it off baka just some lizards lang pero why is it so loud? Is the Lizard is big ba here in province?
I continue washing when the sound became more clearer this time when reality strike me and remembering about the 'aswang' old people telling about I hurriedly grab my towel and wrap it around my body because I'm just wearing my undies and bra.
It was not just a Lizard!! Oh God! Stupid self bakit mo naman naisip na butiki iyon?! It was very loud! I was about to turn around when I bumped into someone na mas lalong nagdulot sa akin ng takot
" Lola!!!!!!" I shouted so loud that I made sure Lola would hear it Incase the aswang would take me.
I was about to fell on the ground because of the strong impact of me bumping this momo Infront of me when a strong hand wrap around my waist for support.
" Hey, relax Ang gwapo ko Naman para maging aswang" A familiar baritone voice suddenly speak kaya I look at him to make sure of it.
It's Him! Hindi lang Pala Siya attitude he's also mahangin so full of himself. I untangled his arm on my waist and fix my self. Tamang-tama Rin Kasi Lola also came carrying flashlight.
" Oh apo ba't Ikaw sumisigaw?" Lola rushed in me and checked me.
" Lola did you hear it too? May aswang po ! I thought it was a lizard but it was aswang Pala! I was really scared Lola" I said exaggeratedly.
But I rolled my eyes when I heard the man's laugh it was kinda sexy though pero naiinis Ako sa kanya.
"Why are you laughing ha?" but he just give me a smile. I feel the heat in my face because of his smile kaya umiwas Ako ng tingin .
" Magandang Gabi po Lola , tinignan ko lang po Ang paligid kung may mga ligaw na Kambing pa baka po Kasi mapunta nanaman po sa gulayan" He talked to Lola with gentleness in his voice napa ismid Ako dahil sa akin napaka rude Niya tsk.
" Ahh Ganon ba... mabuti Namang Theo, eh noong huli ay halos maubos Ang mga talong dahil sa kabila" Sabi ni Lola sabay tawa.
"sige po Mauna na po Ako , at mukang nilalamig na po iyang apo niyo" He said and glanced at me only to realized na I was facing him wearing only a towel.
" Ohh Sige halong ha?" nauna si Lolang naglakad kesa sa akin Kaya sumunod na Ako ng Hindi nililingon iyong Theo daw but suddenly stop midway when he spoke again.
"Close your door and window little girl baka ibang aswang Ang papasok jan" he said with a playful smile in his face. Hearing him calling me little girl makes my blood boil kaya lumapit Ako sa kanya at tinuhod Siya Bago patakbong sumunod Kay Lola. I heard him saying something pero Hindi ko na masyadong maintindihan.
"ughh! Kids and their intrusive thoughts"
