Another morning came and I woke up with a familiar girl voice blabbering things and I was right, It was Angie sitting on one of our wooden yet a little comfy chair, nasa harap Niya si Lola at Theo....of course Theo will always be here.
"Good morning Lola " I said and kiss her in her cheeks.
"Good morning Gie-gie"
"Good morning rin Ilara, pasensya na nagising pa yata kita dahil sa ingay ko "
"No, it's okay Hindi ka Naman masyadong maingay" Sabi ko na ikinatawa niya.
" Ako Hindi mo babatiin ng good morning?" I looked at Theo while he's dipping he's pandesal in his coffee.
"Walang good sa morning kung mukha mo mismo Ang bubungad sa akin" I joked. Gie-gie laughed at my statement kaya napatawa na rin ako while Theo playfully rolled his eyes at me.
"Kayo talagang mga Bata oh Siya maupo kana diyan at titimplahan kita ng gatas " Sabi Niya and she was about to stand when I stop her.
"I will do it nalang po Lola, And I don't drink milk po eh I prefer drinking coffee " I said while gently pouring the hot water from the thermos.
After I make my coffee I joined them at the table while happily talking some things. I never had this kind of moments With my family kapag kumakain kami everyone is serious. Minsan Naman Hindi kami kompleto and there was a time na I Only ate alone.
I will treasure this moment.
Kaya Pala nadito Silang dalawa because they we're going to the bukid with Lola to harvest the eggplants, I decided to come with them too because nakaka bore Naman sa Bahay Wala rin kasing tv, Lola only had a speaker.
I'm wearing a black jacket and a pajama para Hindi mangati Ang aking balat and to keep my skin from the heat of the sun, I also wear hat and slippers Hindi Naman umulan kaya Hindi maputik Ang daan papunta doon.
While walking Angie suddenly open a topic about the coming enrollment.
" Lara malapit na Yung enrollment sa school, sabay tayong pupunta Doon...Anong program kukunin mo?" Talking about the programs I still can't decide about it, I'm thorn between choosing ICT or HUMSS.
" I can't decide pa eh, I'll tell you nalang if Meron na " I wonder kung Anong grade na rin ba si Theo or is he still studying?
So I faced him nasa likod ko Kasi Siya, Lola is leading the way there kasunod niya si Gie-gie then me and Theo .
"How about you Theo?" I asked him and continued walking.
" First year college na Ako, nakapag entrance exam na rin waiting na lang sa results" Oh so first year college na Pala Siya sa Bahay he look older than us Naman eh.
" Anong kukunin mo?" I asked again
"Ikaw"... What? He's going to get me ? Is he crazy kaya I face him again with confused look.
"What?"
"I mean, Ikaw, Anong kukunin mo?" Is he bingi? Hindi Niya ba kami narinig kanina?
" I can't decide pa Wala Naman Kasi Dito Yung program na gusto ko" I said and jump, Meron kasing para ilog but it's not that wide naman.
" Nakakapogi daw Kasi Yung engineering kaya engineering Yung kinuha ko" sabay tawa, Gie-gie and I laughed at him.
Told you guys he's so mahangin!
" Pansin mo Yun Lara? Lumakas bigla Yung hangin noh!" sabay tawa Niya.
When we finally arrived we rest a little bit and then started to harvest the eggplants, I can see from here na ang lapad ng bukid nina Lola and there are lots of kind of vegetables merong String beans, Okra , Pechay, Kalabasa , patola and they even have rice fields and corn field Hindi rinn mawawala Yung malunggay and many more.
But sad to think na Lolo is not here anymore I was 10 years old that time when Lolo died but we didn't have the chance to attend the burial or visit him because Mom and Dad are both busy.
The vegetables looks so fresh and bigger kesa sa mga nabili namin sa Manila.
"Look ohh, It's so big Ang long! I don't see eggplants like this in Manila" I said ng sa pagkakaalam ko ay si Angie Ang katabi ko.
" Tama ka Jan! Malalaki at mahahaba talaga Dito sa probinsya at masasarap pa!" I don't know kung what kind of long and big he is talking about o marumi lang talaga ang utak ko, I really need to borrow an alcohol from him then.
When we're done harvesting eggplants and some of the vegetables we directly went to the Payag , It is Kubo or something like that but they call it here Payag.
Lola prepared the food for us and for the other farmers also who helped us in harvesting.
Lola prepared the food Gie-gie and Theo helped too kaya tumulong na din Ako.We gather in a long table under the mango tree, I like this set up para Siyang picnic. But before we start eating Lola prayed first.
After praying kanya-kanya na sila ng pagkuha ng pagkain na naka hain. On my left side is Lola and on the right side Naman ay si Theo and then si Gie-gie.
"Uhmm...is this daing po ba Lola?" I asked Lola while pointing at the dried fish infont of me. Hindi pa Kasi ako nakakakuha ng ulam I only have rice on my plate, there's so many kind of ulam Naman but some of it ay Hindi pamilyar sa akin although they kinda look delicious Naman.
"Oo bulad Ang tawag namin niyan Dito iha" Sabi ni Lola
" Ahh bulad" I said while nodding and put the bulad in my plate.
"Masarap Yan Ilara wait akin na muna" biglang sabi ni Theo sabay kuha sa akin ng dried fish and then he tear it into pieces before putting it in my plate. Pero Akala ko tapos na Siya, bit he suddenly get a rice using his hands with a dried fish in it, kagaya ng ginagawa ng mga farmers dito he then placed it Infront of my mouth. I instantly blushed at his sudden action and was hesitant kung isusubo ko Rin ba.
"Kainin mo na Lara masarap Yan si Theo pa nga nag prito niyan eh" Angie said while taking abig bite at the dried fish she's eating. I can feel that my cheeks went red this time and I was kinda shy because Yung ibang farmers is watching us with a smile plastered on their faces.
" Bilisan mo Naman Ilara nangangawit na Ako eh" tsk! Who said ba Kasi na subuan Niya ko?! Kaya I don't have a choice kundi isubo Rin iyon, I also felt his fingertips in my lips that that caused my heart to palpitate, sa kakakape ko siguro toh. I even feel my cheeks heat even more kaya kaagad Akong umiwas sa kanya ng tingin and divert my attention to the food in front of me.
" Masarap diba? Lalo na kapag sinusubuan ka, gusto mo subuan kita ulit?" he whispered in my ear kaya I secretly pinched his side that make him grunt but he just laugh it off. This man is the death of me!
