5:10pm, Wednesday

Jules had just gotten on the train that would take her from the western suburbs where she worked over to the east side of the city, when her phone notification sound DING-ed in her headphones.

She checked her phone and smiled when she saw a discord message from Fiona.

Fiona:

Hey

How long does it take you to get into the city?

The question confused Jules.

They hadn't made plans to do anything tonight...

Had they?

Her mind raced as she quickly skimmed back through all the messages they'd sent back and forth since Jules had left Fiona's place on Sunday, and found nothing about any definite plans.

Juliet:

Like 15 minutes

Fiona:

Can we meet at Southern Cross at like 5:30?

Jules found herself getting slightly nervous as she decided to probe.

Juliet:

Why?

Fiona:

I have a proposal

Fiona must have telepathically read the confusion on Jules' face, judging by the next message being sent almost immediately.

Fiona:

Nothing sus😉

There's just a lot to explain

Jules thought about it for a moment.

She wanted to be home after a long day at work...

But she really wanted to see Fiona...

Juliet:

Ok, I'll see you there

Fiona:

Thanks 😊

Jules opened google maps to figure out what her next move was.

-----------------------------------

Jules had passed through the ticket gates when she caught a glimpse of Fiona, waiting just outside the station.

Jules smiled. Fiona hadn't seen her yet, and was currently checking her phone.

She made it to within about 15 metres before their eyes locked.

Fiona immediately smiled.

"Hi, Halo girl." Said Fiona when the two got close.

"Fancy seeing you here..." Jules responded, instantly cringing at her own joke.

It took her a second to realise that Fiona's arms were outstretched slightly, clearly offering a hug.

The two girls embraced tenderly, and Jules forgot all about throngs of people hustling and bustling around them.

The feeling of Fiona's smell hitting her nostrils made Jules smile even more. She was as warm as always.

After a surprisingly long time of just standing there in the middle of the station, their eyes met again.
