Short story - Reunion (Avengers x OC, Black Widow Focused)

Chapter 3

4 days later

Breakfast was late, because everyone was asleep till 10 am.

After Sofia ate eggs with bacon she went jogging. Compound was placed in a beautiful green area. It was actually a clearing in the middle of the forest. It was quiet and peaceful, ideal place to clear mind and cut yourself from the world and life. Especially when someone's life wasn't peaceful at all.

She jogged about 4 kilometres. It wasn't much, but it was her first run in two months, she didn't want to overdo it. Sofia walked, enjoying the atmosphere of the forest. Forest... green like Nat's eyes.

She came back.

"Hello Sofia." JARVIS welcomed her.

"Hi. Where is everyone?" She asked.

"They went on a mission. It was an emergency. Only Bruce stayed because he is working on something. Fury called Maria, they had something to do in his office and Peter wanted to visit his aunt. Clint went somewhere, I don't know where." Pepper walked to her from the room on the right.

"Will they come back soon?" Sofia said and entered the kitchen for some water.

"Well, I hope so, but you never know."

"I hope they will be fine." After a minute of silence she asked "Can somebody lead me to the gym? This place is huge and I already lost myself."

"Yeah, sure, follow me." Pepper answered.

"Thank you Pepper." Sofia said before she walked through the gym door.

"No problem sweetheart. Just be careful."

She's so sweet. Such a mum. Sofia thought and smiled to herself. She never had good relations with her mother. She wasn't bad as a parent, but something just didn't click between them. One day she died. She was murdered. Sofia was left alone. Day after that event she was taken to the Black Widow Program. She missed her.

Sofia started boxing. Thoughts still swirled in her head. Her mother. Her father. Friends. School. -her punches became stronger-. Murder. Kidnapping. Russian man. Other young girls. -she started to breathe heavier-. Fear. Weakness. Training. Red Room. Abuse. Nat...

She punched the boxing bag so hard that the chain broke and the bag flew on the wall. Escape.

Shit... I think it's enough for today. I guess throwing weights isn't the best idea.

Sofia walked to her room and took a shower. Then she laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a while. She didn't notice when she fell asleep. After an hour the noise woke her up. She decided to check what that was, so she got dressed and left the room. She went downstairs and almost fell from the stairs. In the hallway Bucky stopped her.

"Hello Sofia!"

"Oh, hi Bucky. Did you come back from the mission?"

"The mission? Oh yes, yes, we just came back."

"How did it go? Everyone is okay?"

"It went well, yes, everyone's fine. How about you?"

"I'm fine, thanks. Where is the rest?"

"They are..." Bucky looked on the right where Steve was standing. He showed him that they can come to the room. "...waiting for us, in the room, there." Barnes led Sofia down the hall.

"Are you okay Bucky? You seem nervous and distracted."

"What? Me? No, I'm fine, I'm good. Please, after you." He said before entering the room. Sofia walked first. What she saw completely shocked her.
