Days go by.... Kenji together with Tobirama learns the Ninja arts in no time, many techniques of his invention and that of his brother Hashirama were transmitted to Kenji.
The young boy, despite the training that always brought him to exhaustion because Tobirama went heavy on him, managed to become stronger and find a purpose. Despite it... He refused to give up. He woke up early, a quick breakfast and then went to train with tobirama alone on the hill. He had finally mastered the technique of "instant transfer" to perfection.
Tobirama, despite being supervising everything about Kenji, did not show any satisfaction, did not compliment or praise him. As usual, he continued to remain cold... Frosty with a small uchiha. (Kenji obviously wasn't aware of why tobirama was always so cold to him) In fact he have always been told that his parents were simple ninjas that have died during the I° great ninja war and his surname have been lost. So Kenji was left with just his name and an unknown background...
Not even having the way to understand if Tobirama was proud of him or not, he trained continuously, always pushing his limits till he arrives home so tired to fall asleep as soon as he hit the pillow.
Days go by and Kenji begins to have his first level C and B-rank missions. Capturing cats that have escaped from their owners was not a job for an immortal Chunin like Kenji. He finally sets foot outside the village, alone...
His steps had become fast in a very short time, he liked to run, he had become accustomed to running up the mountains, even carrying heavy loads on his back. He often happened to help the elders by collecting their sacks full of wood or ears of wheat, bringing them up the hills of the village. And how that he had that freedom to place out of the boundaries of konoha, he could feel the adrenaline wash over him... A sense of freedom, the air hits his face and moves his dark hair away when he jumps from a branch of a tree to another. Being young means also being very agile and light, swift in each movement ... He also enjoyed the trilling feeling of danger that was outside Konoha, much easier to handle than the continue bad looks of the villagers.
Smiling under the hood of his black cape he heads towards the location of his B rank mission... When he traveled, he stopped to explore and better understand the areas he visited. He was a child very curious about nature: animals, plants, medicinal herbs, surfaces and biomes. He observed everything, wondering how he could survive in those places in case of extreme danger.
Maybe I'm too paranoid...
Kenji can't help but question himself for everything. The missions were quite simple at first but then... He rose through the ranks, and barely 11 years old Kenji already had his first S-rank mission.
Even outside the village of the leaf and outside the land of fire, Kenji's name and immortality have been much discussed and arrived till the land of Fog, Lightning and Water, the Ninjas have started to look for this "Immortal"... starting a literal hunt for Kenji out of curiosity and malice, with the intent of gaining a new pawn for their assets.
Kenji in fact found himself fighting with many more Ninjas than normal during his missions within the borders of Konoha. They were constantly getting in his way... When he reported his missions to Tobirama, the shinobi took into account how many people were testing Kenji's immortality and he didn't like that at all. Tobirama was keeping Kenji under his close surveillance precisely because he wanted him to be his best weapon to keep the village safe. If an enemy took over Kenji and controlled him with some technique or even just a genjiutsu, Konoha would be in danger...
An enemy that can't die is a big nuisance... Almost like a jinchuriki
For this reason, tobirama tried to keep Kenji quiet and good by his side. But the child wasn't stupid, soon enough he started to feel that something was off. From then on, Tobirama had become less cold with Kenji, he tried to repay him with free meals, extra pocket money beyond what he earned from the missions, more attention and freedom within the village. But in return... He wanted extreme trust and submission.
Kenji, realizing that something was wrong with Tobirama, decided to keep his distance... He didn't like to be controlled, guarded like a prisoner, especially because all the inhabitants of Konoha could not have a normal conversation with Kenji without having an ounce of fear. Things got worse when at the age of 16, Rogue ninjas from the country of waterfalls intercepted Kenji and ran to the village to loot and capture the young immortal. Slightly surprised, the Hokage Tobirama did not have time to adopt a strategy and so a blitzkrieg was unleashed, sending all the Ninja he could to the borders of the country to fight against the invaders.
Kenji was there too... As soon as the Ninja of the waterfall saw him, they rushed on him to attack. The young man, however, was not only immortal... He had inside him the Will of Fire. Vowing to protect Konoha, he and the other ninjas defeated the Rogues. The village had suffered losses, the alarmed citizens began to complain about it... And of course blame it on Kenji who had attracted the Rogues to them because of their thirst for immortality...
But I protected them... Why do they hate me?
But the troubles did not end there. In the years to come, Ninjas from other countries attacked Konoha again, sometimes creating wars of position and long trenches around the land of fire. The villagers tired and scared shouted and asked the Hokage to kick the young ninja out of the village... But Tobirama refused, he needed Kenji more than ever because of the wars. The young man, that was barely 18 years old, was always on the front line to fight. It was precisely for this reason that Kenji was unable to create another title that wasn't "the immortal of the leaf". Always seen fighting, seeing the bad controlled version of an unstobbable human, a killer machine.
This is where the fun begins... Once he passes the exam to become a Jonin, Kenji suddenly decides to leave the village, flee to give Konoha a better life. One night in January, Kenji decides to give himself a birthday present... He gathers all his belongings, puts on his black and red uniform... Long black gloves that keeps his fingers out. Sleeveless black tight top with a red hood, red ninja pants, tight from the knee down thanks to the boots and a cape that wraps around his now much taller and fit form. (you can see the whole outfit better in one of my drawings I publish on my ig profile: thatsky_enty hehe, or maybe watch it here in the next part of the story I'll publish, to give a better idea of Kenji's character) !
He takes some recall scrolls that he used to put in the provisions, weapons or other scrolls he owned. So he could travel light and be fast while carrying everything that was useful to him. (Smart of him)... Then he pulled up the black fabric mask that covered him up to his nose, pulled up the hood of the cape and left his golden eyes uncovered that over time... From innocent, they have gone to dead serious. Scarred by the battle but stronger than before, Kenji leaves the house and heads towards the borders of the village.
It's for Konoha... To protect the village. If the Rogues follow me and attack my country because of me, then I will leave and take responsibility. After all... I know almost nothing about myself and my family, there is nothing that anchors me to this village
And with that thought, Kenji steps out of the gates of the village that he called "home" but never felt like one.
"Traveling will be good for me... Come on Kenji, you got this"
He whispers to himself trying to keep determinated and sure of this drastic decision. With a jump he arrives on an eaves of a tree, jumping from branch to branch, he manages to get cover and travel long distances. Leaving behind him what has always been the chain that held his wings tight close...
I forgot the bandages at home... Too bad, I heal even without

Kenji is now 18 years old! But it is still at the beginning of its history. From here on out... Life will become harder, more cruel...
What will happen now that Kenji has abandoned the village? Will Tobirama be angry to death with him? Stay tuned to read more!
