I was back in the states after the closing ceremony and doing some interviews in Rio. Then planning for the nationwide broadcasting back home.
It has been 2 weeks after the Olympics and I finally made it to the final stop of the media tour and I was in New York. I had done the today show and good morning america, all I had to do now was Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night and I was done. I could finally go home and sleep in my own bed.
I was sitting in my hotel room and I got a text from Aly.
Aly: Hey have you gotten your Olympics ring tattoo yet? I just got mine.
She sent a picture with it showing off hers. I smiled seeing it.
Aspen: No not yet...
I sighed knowing I needed to get one. As I was researching places back in Boston there was a knock on my hotel room door.
When I answered it I was in shock, "SCOTT?!" I squealed jumping in his arms. He laughed and hugged me back.
"I knew you were stuck here until tomorrow. It was a quick plane ride. I thought I would come visit." Scott said as we walked into the room.
"Which I'm grateful for. I was pretty lonely making all these stops." I said and Scott sighed.
"Well we are ready to have you home." Scott said and I nodded.
"I'm ready to be home." I smirked.
"And before I forget Ma wanted to throw you a congratulatory dinner and she was wondering if you were okay with Chris being there." Scott asked and I sighed with a nod.
"Yeah he can be there..." I trailed off. Scott saw my phone and saw what I was researching.
"Getting the rings done?" Scott asked and I nodded. "Wait...I think I know the person and you should too. They are based here in New York."
Scott pulled out his phone and I heard him make a phone call. After about 10 minutes Scott smiled at me.
"You ready to go? I got you an appointment in half an hour." Scott said and I just looked at him oddly.
"What?! Where?!" I asked as we left the hotel.
"East Side Ink." Scott said and I sighed knowing it was where Chris got a lot of his done and he knew the owner.
"Oh yeah!" I said and then I pulled up something on my phone.
"I may get a few done today..." I said and Scott looked at me oddly. "I have to get my rings and then the one for my parents. Flower wreath made of lilies because mom was obsessed and her initials inside it. For my dad, he was obsessed with football, all he loved besides me and mom..." I smiled at Scott as we left the hotel. "So I was going to get a football jersey that says dad and the year he died on it." I said showing Scott the images I had drawn up
"Where do you want them?" Scott asked.
"One on each side. My rings will be on my collar bone. Enough to be hidden by a shirt and I want them close to my heart." I said and Scott nodded.
"Make sense." Scott said. We hailed a cab and Scott gave them the address.
"I'm surprised you didn't wait to be back with Chris to get these done." Scott said and I just looked at my hands in my lap.
"Scott I don't know when or if I'm getting back together with Chris." I said.
"If?! What do you mean if?" Scott asked and I sighed.
"I mean, yes, he apologized for what he said and he said he was watching but he never fully said he supported my decision in what I was doing." I explained. Scott groaned and looked at me.
