Chris knocked in the door a few minutes after 7 as I was taking the garlic bread out of the oven. Bruno was barking at the door and I groaned.
"Yes I know I hear him, give me a minute to let your best friend in." I joked walking to the door. I opened the door and Chris was laughing as he walked in after kissing my cheek. He then loved on Bruno after setting the wine down he brought.
"God two peas in a pod." I said.
"He just knows who he loves more." Chris said and I laughed along with him.
"I'm the one who saved him from the shelter!" I replied and Chris laughed. I walked back into the kitchen to get the food to set on the small table and Chris joined me.
"Need any help?" He asked as he washed his hands after being with Bruno. I handed him a wine bottle opener.
"Open the wine please?" I asked with a smile and he nodded.
"Of course." He said as we worked side by side in my cramped kitchen. As one point I had to reach in front of Chris and our body's rubbed against each other. I knew I felt the electricity and he did too but I needed to ignore it.
I finished dishing up the plates and carried them to the table as Chris grabbed the garlic bread and wine.
We sat down and Chris smelled the pasta I made.
"I have missed this dish." Chris said and I smiled knowing I made it a lot when we lived together.
"I missed making it. I never wanted to make it just for myself." I answered.
"Well thank you for making it tonight." Chris winked at me and I smiled.
We went about eating and talking about what was going on.
"So I need to tell you something..." Chris trailed off wiping his mouth with his napkin.
"Is everything okay?" I asked worriedly.
"Yeah it's just I got my schedule for the next marvel movie and I know when I will be leaving." Chris said. I put my fork down and grabbed my napkin to wipe my mouth.
"When do you leave?" I asked.
"Right after the new year. I get to spend the holidays at home but then I'm gone." Chris explained.
"For how long?" I asked.
"That's the things...a year. We are filming in the last 2 movies." Chris said and I half nodded.
"And not that I want to sound too forward but what does this mean for us? I mean we are working on us." I said and Chris sighed.
"I don't want anything to go wrong between us. I know it's not ideal Aspen but I still want to be with you, working this out." Chris said.
"So long distance for a year?" I asked.
"If you would want that. I mean don't want to loose this." Chris said reaching for my hand and I placed mine in his and smiled.
"Me either." I smiled at Chris.
We finished eating while holding hands the entire time.
Chris helped me clean off the table and do the dishes.
"Were you always this helpful when we dated before?" I giggled and Chris flicked the water on his fingers as me. "Hey!" We laughed.
"And no I wasn't this helpful but this is the new me." Chris said and I smiled.
"I like the new you." I said. We finished dishes, took our glasses or wine and headed out to the couch.
I sat next to Chris and took the initiative to cuddle into his side and he gladly accepted this. He put his arm around me and rubbed up and down my back as I rested my head on the front of his shoulder, close to his chest, resting my hand on his chest, toying with the one button on his Henley shirt.
I looked up at Chris.
"Thank you for your help today and sorry I had to put you through the speech again." I smiled and Chris chuckled shaking his head.
"I think you should give me that speech whenever I'm out of line." Chris said and I chuckled. "And you are very welcome for the help."
I was just looking up at Chris as he looked down at me. I lifted myself up slowly, Chris just watched me.
"Don't overthink this, just go with it." I whispered and Chris nodded as my lips touched his and he held my body against his. As we kissed I skimmed my tongue along the seam of Chris's lips and he opened for me as we deepened the kiss.
We resituated on the couch and got more comfortable. Chris placed his hands on my hips and moved me to where I was in his lap, straddling him but I didn't stop this movement.
I moaned as we made out. My hands on Chris's chest feeling the muscles, his hand on my ass squeezing...my ass man that he was.
We continued to make out forgetting all about the world around us and what this could mean. We knew we weren't going any further and this was all we would do.
Chris then started to move us so we were laying on the couch and he was hovering over me. We disconnected our lips and just looked at each other.
"You know I can't go any further than this right?" I asked and Chris nodded.
"I would never push this further Aspen. I just like being with you right now." Chris said as he leaned down and passionately kissed me again.
Soon we were breaking apart again. Chris looked down at me and sighed.
"I need to go Aspen." Chris said and I just looked at him.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Aspen I'm loving making out with you I just don't want us to play with fire too much and I think we are getting to that point." Chris said and I sighed but nodded knowing he was right. We sat up and Chris gave me another small kiss.
"Thank you for coming over tonight..." I said and Chris just shook his head. As we stood up and headed to the door of the apartment.
"I always love coming over." Chris said and opened the door. "Good night Aspen." Chris said, he leaned down and gave me a small but passionate kiss.
"Good night." I said and he walked out. As the door closed I fell against it and slid down to the floor. I made out with Chris tonight and he stopped it before we could go further. He was actually the strong one.
Did I want to go further though? I felt it but was I ready?
