Caitlin's pov

"So how are you planning on asking her?" Kate asked me as we shot some hoops. I had called her and told her that I needed to clear my mind and she gladly accepted to come with me. "I don't know yet. I am not sure how I I am supposed to do this" I said before sighing and shooting another ball yet missing the basket. I groan as I go to grab another ball as Kate shoots. "Well you should probably do it in a way you are comfortable as well. I mean it's bullshit to propose to someone in a certain way you wouldn't want to" she said as she collected her rebound. "No I know that. I do. I just don't know how I am going to do it. I mean should it be at a restaurant? On the beach? At our dorm? I have no idea" I said. I saw Kate nod understanding what I was trying to say. "Are you sure you are ready Caitlin? I mean it's a pretty big deal. A wedding is a big deal" she said as she sat down in front of me. I shook my head before looking away "I really want it for us. I know I am ready I am just scared that she might not want to marry me" I asked my insecurities taking over my head. "well then it's her loss cause I know there are thousands of women begging for you to marry them. So it would be foolish of her to say no to you. She does too" she said and I smiled at her comment. I could hear the small sigh that left her lips which meant that she knew that something was on my mind for me not to enjoy a shoot around "alright I'll be waiting for you. Tell Kate I said hi. I love you" she said warming my heart. "I love you more" I said and we hung up. Kate started making disgusted noises as I rolled my eyes at her "Carla told me to say to you from her. Also shut up?!" I said as we laughed and laid to the ground. "Do you think she'll freak out?" I asked Kate who stared at the ceiling. "To be honest she might. But I don't think there are any chances that she would say no". She turned around to face me and signaled me to get over there so she could hug me and I did just that. Kate always knows when I need someone to hold me or to calm me down. I am really happy that she's my friend "This means a lot to me you know. I haven't told you how much I appreciate you" I said a feeling of guilt rushed through me as I held her even tighter than before. Kate smiled at what I said and tightened her grip as well. "I know. You might not have told me with words but you make it very visible that you appreciate me. For example even if I wanna forget it I can't help but remember the way you beat the shit outta AJ. Back then when Carla was in a coma" as she said that I felt my blood boil. "And I didn't do what I wanted to" I added making Kate let out a laugh. "Imagine if you did. What I'm trying to say is that you never had a way with words. But your actions speak louder than any word. I know you care about me Clark. Don't think I don't" she said as she smiled down at me. I felt very peaceful for a moment. This girl has always been my best friend since day one. "Let's go now your lady and my friend is going to whoop our asses if are late" she said and I agreed as we got up and gathered our gear. "And Caitlin" she called out before we exited the gym. I turned around to face her "I know you love her truly. And I hope you know that y'all have my blessing". As she finished that sentence tears threatened to leave my eyes. I let out a small laugh before hugging her tightly as I let my tears stream down. "Thank you Martin". It took me a second to gather myself but eventually I did and we got back home in a comfortable silence. The faint music from the radio was the only thing that could be heard. As we entered the building I said bye to Kate and made my way up to mine and Carla's dorm. "Baby I'm back!" I said as I let my keys fall to the small table we had beside the door. "Baby?" I asked again as I heard no movement. I searched the room allover but then I heard music coming from the bathroom. I slowly opened the door and there she was dancing and singing in the shower to some song of the weekend. I smiled as I decided to join her. As I got in I wrapped my arms around her and saw her jump a little making me giggle a bit. "Hey love" I whispered in her ear as I kept my head in the crook of her neck. "Heyy. She started rubbing some shampoo on me noticing that I was really tired and I smiled at her humming in response. "Long day?" She asked and I nodded in response. "Oh my poor baby. Do you want me to give you a massage?" She asked once again and I looked up at her like a stray puppy asking for food "yes please" I said and she let out a small laugh as she washed herself off. I did the same and we stepped out the shower. "I'm gonna go change. You order some food and lay down on our bed okay?" She asked and I said yes before ordering our food. I went and laid down on our bed with my towel still wrapped around my waist so she could massage me easier. "You ready baby?" She asked and I nodded in response. Suddenly I felt some cold lotion fall on my skin making me shiver. She started rubbing the lotion allover my body putting slight pressure on the spots I seemed to be more tense.
