Burst Shorts

Waking up (Part 1 of series)

[An: I'm alive and have returned to deliver a short. So this was inspired by Inky_Kuro's Beast Within and Try to Awake, Try to escape. The storyline will play out slower than a normal short. I do not promise regular updates. I will try to aim for once a week, but again no promises.]

(These shorts take place over the course of seven years. The first few are a little dark. I will be putting notes at the beginning of each short for how much time has passed between each one. In this AU, people and some animals have up to three abilities/superpowers/quirks. Also, the Snake Pit has no dealings with beyblades, its purpose is much more sinister. There is mention of gore in the very beginning of this short. If you're uncomfortable with that, I will put up a warning at the beginning of it. Without further ado)

Pain. Anger. Fear. Hopelessness. These are the emotions Galaxy felt as he lay on the table. His legs, head, and tail had been strapped down with metal bands to prevent him from getting loose. Not like he could anyways, his abilities had been suppressed. He had been drugged into a limp but conscious state.

(Here's your warning)

He couldn't see what they were doing to him, he could only feel the pain as they ripped him apart. Hands grabbed and pulled at his organs before something sharp would cut them loose from him. He could feel his blood pooling under him, he was surprised he was still alive.

It didn't surprise him that he was still conscious. Ashtem had made sure he would be. He only hoped Sora wasn't going through the same torcherous death.

“How's our donor doing?” Came the sickly sweet arrogant voice of the man who was ripping the wolf apart. Galaxy bared his teeth, a high pitched whistle escaped his open throat as he attempted to growl. “Still wanting to rip my throat out. Good. As much as I’d love to drag this out and make you suffer more,” Galaxy felt a hand wrap firmly around his heart. His mouth sprung open and his ears flattened against his head as his breathing quickened from the pain and stress his already exhausted heart was under. He could hear it pounding in his ears. “I have nothing else to harvest from you alive.” Ashtem said.

A sharp pain erupted in Galaxy’s chest and his heart was no longer pounding in his ears, but he could still hear it. The sound grew louder, as if the man was bringing it close to his head. Galaxy began trying to snap his jaws towards the sound. He could barely get his muzzle off the table. He tried moving his legs, but they wouldn't respond. 

He felt himself fading along with the sound of his heartbeat. “Don't worry, I’ll take good care of your troublesome owner.” Ashtem said. That was the last thing Galaxy heard before he breathed his last and his heart stilled in the man’s hand.

Next thing he knew, he felt a soft material under him. He heard a heart monitor somewhere to his left. Ugh… Why does everything feel funny? Asked the very familiar and comforting voice of his friend. Sora? Galaxy said, confused and hopeful. 

Who’s there? And why are you in my head? Sora asked, getting defensive. Me. Galaxy. Where…? Galaxy said. There's no way you're Galaxy. He’s a wolf. Sora said. Yes! Am wolf! Don't know how get here. Galaxy said, trying his best to use the human words he actually knew. Ok, prove it. Tell me something only Galaxy would know. Sora said. Uhh… Only me would know… Oh! You send me with person to take me home. Person had glasses and brown curly hair. Galaxy said. 

…So it is you. What are you doing in my head bud? Sora asked, now confused. Don't know. Last I remember is… dying. How am here? Where is you? Galaxy said. Well, like I said. You're in my head so I'm here. If you mean where I am physically, I don't know. Last thing I remember is being knocked out while running from Ashtem's men. Sora answered. Ashtem! He caught me, he killed me! Had hoped you got away… Galaxy said.  If you were caught and now in my head, that means… oh no- Sora said. He caught you too. But you not dead. Can hear machine beep. Galaxy said. You hear that too? Makes sense, you’re in my head. But how are you in my head if you're dead? Sora asked. Don't know. Not ghost, those no exist. Don't feel dead now. Am starting to feel pain. Galaxy said.
