The car ride to school felt like it was never ending. Bethany took them this time around, Reidan rested her chin on her hand as she mindlessly looked out the window again, she sighed deeply. Meanwhile— Keira was doing the same thing as her cousin.

Bethany glanced up at the rear view mirror every now and again, attempting to get the girls to talk. But nothing came about it.

Reidan recognized the Mission Creek High sign and grabbed her backpack, Keira mimicking her. Bethany stopped at the loop and motioned for the girls to get out.

"Alright. Have a good day at school, and come straight home afterwards-" she said. Reidan pursed her lips together and threw her backpack over her shoulder. Keira followed closely behind her as the two girls entered the building.

Reidan immediately stopped at her locker, the door was back in its rightful place— genuinely surprised at how quickly they were able to repair it after Adam accidentally ripped it off its hinges.

Just then, Leo entered the school and immediately noticed the girl— he wanted to say something to her, but couldn't find the words to do it. He felt guilty for getting them in trouble. That text conversation with Keira during the aftermath did not sound very pretty.

He awkwardly walked up, clutching his books tightly against his chest. He relaxed his right hand and lightly tapped Reidan on the shoulder. She turned around to see Leo, confused— she tilted her head.

"Oh, hey Leo. I think Keira is in class already but-" Leo stopped her.

"No, I wanted to apologize for last night. I know you guys got in trouble because Keira told me. I didn't want to ruin your first day," he said with guilt lacing his words. Reidan picked up on his genuineness and smiled weakly.

"It's- It's okay. Really. I had fun in the short amount of time I was there," she said with reassurance.

However- another question plagued her mind.

"Keira mentioned that they were leaving. You said they were going to their mom's house right?" She asked. Leo nodded awkwardly, his eyes widening when she asked him that question.

"Well, where are they moving too? If it's not far from Mission Creek I'm sure we can visit them?" She questioned. Leo shook his head, this time- confidently.

"Well, this is complicated— but they're not moving anymore. I can't really explain it but I definitely think they'll be staying in Mission Creek a long time," he said with seriousness. Reidan squinted her eyes at him again.

"What makes you say that?" She asked.

Keira came walking down the stairs, she immediately spotted Leo talking with Reidan, deciding to join in on the conversation.
