GWEN WALKED ALONGSIDE ZEVON, the both of them at the back of the group as they tried to drown out mal's yelling. it had been going on for over an hour and gwen could feel her ears starting to bleed as she closed her eyes in annoyance.

"ben!"

dude laughed. "this way!"

"ben could be asleep anywhere!" mal exclaimed as she threw her arms up.

celia shrugged. "or turned to stone!"

"okay," evie sighed, placing her hand over celia's mouth as zevon giggled.

"ben!"

"if you think he's asleep why are we screaming his name?" scarlett gave a look of confusion, and mal turned to send her a glare.

"i hate to say it, but i agree," gwen nodded whilst scarlett pointed at her with wide-eyes, happy she was not the only one to wonder this.

"i got a scent," dude announced, and their attention turned towards him. "very pungent cologne; easy to track. follow me, people!"

"that's great, dude!" smiled jay.

"fyi, i give great cuddles too," dude then announced, and gwen rolled her eyes at the thought of the many times he had interrupted her and carlos cuddling to squeeze his way in between them.

more so to cuddle her, which didn't settle well with carlos, but it was still annoying.

"really?" gil asked, and the group all began to follow dude. "i never had a pet growing up, well, except for the elk head in dad's man cave, but that—!"

"hold up!" uma cut him off, and gwen looked as her eyes widened at the sight of a picture that had been torn in half, clearly, by a sharp set of claws. "what's this?"

"uh..." carlos trailed off, and moved closer to get a better look, turning towards mal. "any chance this was already there?"

everyone looked at scarlett.

"i've literally been with you all the entire time?" she frowned, raising her hands in a confused protest as gwen rolled her eyes at her.

"and... follow me!" dude said.

"ben!"

"i'm about to rip her vocal chords out," scarlett said quietly into harry's ear, and the two shared a glance before speeding after everyone and entering a room that was full of knights.

"can't say i've been in here before," aariz stated, the usual lightness to his tone gone. gwen knew that he was severely worried and lost without felix, and she didn't know what sort of comfort she could try give him — she usually left the comforting to carlos.
