Deku cleared his throat and Kaz's head whipped around, and it felt like a dagger to Deku's heart. He had thought about what his children with Uraraka would be like before, but seeing it in real life, it took his breath away, this was Uraraka's kid. This was his kid. He hadn't thought about what it would be like to have kids in a very serious way, he had assumed he wouldn't get the opportunity, but when people asked about Melissa's son, or when saw Hawks with his daughters, he had begun to notice a bit of an ache in the pit of his stomach. He was lonely, he had been lonely for as long as he could remember. Deku's hand went up to wipe his tears. No. No. You're scaring him! You're scaring your son! This child didn't know him. He was three, and they were just meeting now! His son was speaking to him. He was speaking to him and he couldn't hear a word he said because he felt like his brain was shutting down. Everything that had happened to him and this was what broke him?
Kaz beamed at Deku "Hi! Do you want me to call you daddy or Dekukun? How are you? I love you! I didn't know I had a daddy! Why are you crying?" Kaz frowned, feeling tears coming to his own eyes, why was his dad so upset? Was he really so disappointing? "I'm sorry Dekukun. I-I-"
Deku snapped back to reality when he saw his son begin to cry. He forced himself to stop, sighing sadly
"I-I'm sorry Kazuku. I didn't mean to I just-Seeing you made me a little bit sad, because you're so beautiful and I'm so sorry I didn't come meet you sooner. I missed a lot of time with you, and it makes me sad because I love you. I love you so much." he whimpered"My mommy calls me Kaz."
Deku nodded "May I call you Kaz? I can call you Ur-I can call you Uraraka if you want, or Kazuku." Deku knew he needed to know his place. This was his son only by blood, at least as of now. He was entitled to nothing."Kaz please."
Deku nodded with a soft smile "What do you want to call me, Kaz? I would like it if you called me daddy, but you can keep calling me Dekukun if you want, or if you want, you can call me Midoriya too.""I can call you Daddy?"
Deku's eyes teared up again "Daddy is fine." he hugged the child gently with a sigh. "I promise to earn that title, okay?"Kaz nodded, hugging him back with a big smile, he was hugging Deku!
Deku tried to quit crying, but the tears wouldn't stop. He heard Ochako come into the house and sighed, pulling away from the hug and looking at his son, he kissed his forehead before standing up to greet Ochako.
She came into the living room, and sighed, looking at Kaz next to his dad. It had been so long since she had seen Deku, she had forgotten how similar Kaz was to him. She wasn't sure what to say, or what to do, she had fucked up so thoroughly, and she had no idea what to do about it.
Deku sighed, of course she was wearing that dress, she knew he couldn't be mad at her in that dress. He had dreamed about that dress so many times, he was having a hard time looking her in the eyes.
Ochako looked at him with a sad smile "What do you want to do today Deku?"
"I think a day in would be nice. Get acquainted."
Ochako nodded "I'm going to make lunch. You two have fun."
Deku nodded his head, Ochako was giving him alone time with his son, so she trusted him, so why had she tried to keep them apart?
He sighed, "I can help you with lunch if you want."
"No. You're here to spend time with Kaz, you should spend time with Kaz."
Deku frowned at her "I came here to spend time with both of you." he said softlyShe sighed, but nodded, "O-Okay."
Deku frowned, why did she seem so mad at him? What had he done to make her hate him? He sighed. Maybe he should just focus on Kaz.. Kaz was his son. Ochako wasn't his anything. No matter how badly he wanted her to be. He followed her into the kitchen and huffed.
