The next day was a challenge. Taehyung and Jungkook had a mountain of things they wanted to get done. But first, they had to navigate an early Monday morning being in each other's company. Both guys were used to living alone and never had to make concessions in their own spaces. Taehyung had never had to yield to another because he never had overnight guests. So, Jungkook moved cautiously around him, trying to get dressed without getting in his way.

Taehyung did not feel comfortable leaving his new roommate and husband at home alone. It just wouldn't be safe. So, Yoongi came up with the brilliant idea of Taehyung bringing Jungkook up to the job as a private citizen visit and while there he could use that time to be added to Taehyung's insurance and other "married people shit." That would be the rationale for Jungkook having to be in the building. Because Taehyung didn't have a safe place for him to stay where he wouldn't be alone, Jungkook had to get up and go to work with him.

After he checked his work agenda, Taehyung threw himself into his work tasks. Jungkook noticed how methodical Taehyung was. This was a stark contrast to the guy he'd partied with in Vegas. Jungkook thought it was cute. He thought everything Taehyung did was cute. Or sexy as fuck.

It was lunchtime before Taehyung could really spend time with Jungkook who had been diligently working at a small table in the corner of Taehyung's office. He had been using one of Taehyung's laptops from home to Google search for some people that his dad knew. And also he wanted to see what was on the drives.

It was now lunchtime and the two were getting ready to meet the friend group at the deli they usually frequented. Once back outside the building, Jungkook performed his usual scan—taking in his surroundings to make sure he wasn't being followed. He wasn't as worried as he was when he was in New York all alone. He felt better as he was with new friends and was surely grateful for being able to lounge all day in the FBI building. It made him feel safe.

The Hartz Deli, across the street from the J. Edgar Hoover building, was a small, unassuming establishment with a worn, red brick facade. Its windows, often fogged up in the morning, but clear around lunchtime, typically displayed an array of sandwiches, salads, and pastries. Inside, the establishment had a cozy, slightly cramped atmosphere, with a few wooden tables and chairs scattered about. The smell of freshly made desserts and newly sliced smoked meats filled the air, mingling with the scent of freshly baked bread. The enticing smell reminded Jungkook of Katz's Deli in New York.

The owner, Keith Hartz, a middle-aged man with a friendly demeanor, always greeted the guys with a warm smile as they placed their orders at the counter. Despite its proximity to the formal building that housed the FBI, the deli maintained a laid-back, neighborhood vibe, attracting a mix of agents like Taehyung and his friends, office workers from the busy area, and locals who came for a quick bite or linger over a meal.

It was lunchtime and the group started to trickle in. The first ones to arrive were Yoongi and Hoseok. Jimin had already confirmed that he wouldn't be there. He was having lunch with Maddie at the FBI's lounge and food court.

"Looks like we're the first ones here," Yoongi said to Hoseok as he found a seat at their usual table near the window. He leaned back in his chair, glancing out at the street as the heat simmered off the pavement.

The two settled in, the usual banter flowing easily between them. The deli was familiar, like a second home. It was where they could be themselves—just guys, not agents on a mission.

Yoongi and Hoseok had ordered their lunches. Yoongi got the Italian Delight Sub with a Dr. Pepper. Hoseok ordered a seafood chopped salad, a Blondie browny, and a Sprite.
