Jungkook had begged Taehyung to let him stay behind at the condo while he went to work. They hadn't spotted anyone sketch following them since they had left Las Vegas. Jungkook promised to be safe by not leaving the apartment and not answering the door unless he knew the person. Taehyung obliged. He had purchased a monitoring system to use until they could get adequate security cameras. Taehyung would check on him while at work through an app on his phone.

Taehyung had a busy day at work. He was in meetings all day due to the upcoming arrest of a guy in the House of Representatives who was helping to smuggle fentanyl into the country. Taehyung had met with his boss, Cornell, to go over the proof that he could provide. With video footage and bankroll statements, at the very least they could get the guy for tax evasion.

During the meetings, as the others discussed methods of taking down the representative, Taehyung rehearsed every element of his dilemma of still being married to Jungkook and the efforts he and his friends were making to make and keep him safe.

First of all, Taehyung knew that eventually Jungkook would be found again. The stalkers would show back up and he thought that Jungkook should have them arrested by pressing charges against them. But could the police stop them from being in the same public places that Jungkook frequented? They hadn't done anything wrong but show up wherever he was. Taehyung made a mental note to ask Namjoon. He'd either know if the handlers were breaking the law or Joon could find someone who'd know the answer.

Next, on his lunch break, he wanted to call the county courthouse where uncontested divorces were filed and find out what steps he needed to take to get their marriage annulled. That was the main reason Jungkook was still in D.C.—to get unmarried. Secondly, Jungkook was under Taehyung's and his comrades' protection while waiting to become an official bachelor again. Somehow, thinking of Jungkook being legally single caused him to sigh.

Taehyung's friends were working hard to help Jungkook. Yoongi was busy helping Jungkook break into the hard drives from the dead attorney's office. He was hoping he'd get some details on who may have wanted Jungkook's parents dead. If he found out who the murderers were, he would be a step further in finding out who hired the handlers. He'd take that information to the police in New York. Then Jungkook would be safe.

His other friends were helping as well, in their free time. Jin volunteered to look up anything he could find on Justin Crass, Sophie Crass, and Lars Crass. Taehyung wanted to see any adoption info first and foremost. If he could get intel on the parents, he could help Jungkook find out why someone wanted his parents dead. And he wanted to know why they had to live a life of obscurity. Was it about the union? Taehyung sure thought so. Union gangs were dangerous.

Hoseok took on the task of looking into Lars Crass' ways of making money. First, he would research to find out more about the real estate company he owned and any information about the properties and his clients. Secondly, Hobi had the task of researching his work with the workers union he led. Namjoon figured someone connected to the union may have had beef with him.

Namjoon was handling all the rest. He first wanted to find out more about Jeon Jungkook being dead. He wanted to know the circumstances around his supposed death. Taehyung also asked him to find out anything he could about the Crass murders. For some reason, the New York Police Department was being tight-lipped about the whole case.
