An Odd Couple

Chapter 5

"How was your date?"- Kelly asked me cheerfully the next morning.
" Oh god, it wasn't a date,please".
"Okay,well I just came here to check whether you are coming to Liam's party".
Liam is a famous player,girls practically worship him,and he doesn't give anyone a chance.We've become good friends lately and he always says that he is waiting for highschool to get over as he has a great love for horseriding.
" Of course I am"- I said all cheerfully.
"Well hello ladies,how are you doing this morning" came a familiar voice and someone clutched both of us in a sidehug- Liam.
"Actually, I was good but now Iam superb"- I said and all three of us started laughing.
" oh well,that's good ,coming this evening right?"
"Of cource we are!!"- both of us exclaimed.
" And yeah,you can bring as many guests as you like,alright I am getting late,bio class!"- and he walked away.
I saw Matt coming towards us and I waved-"Hey!!"
He just glanced and said a quick hi and walked away.
" I don't know what's wrong with him,anyway,I'll text you"and she walked away as well.

"So class,that's all for today and do get your assignments this Monday, have a great weekend"- said our teacher as the last bell of the day rang.Long week,but I am totally looking forward to this party.Usually I don't attend parties like these,but since Liam is a friend I am going.
I stood waiting for Kelly near the basketball court and saw Josh! He looks good even in that sports jersey. A guy passed the ball to Josh and he aimed for the basket,but someone distracted him at that very moment and the ball landed straight on my head.
THUD!
I fell down on the ground. Josh ran over and gently placed my head on his knee-" Hey,you alright?"- and he stroked my face a little.
At the exact moment I saw Matt standing a little far away with an expression of betrayal- like he was saying -
You are just like them others.
Kelly was standing there as well, with a thumbs up and a smirk.
"Are you alright?" He asked again.Well I was quite tough,and nothing really happened but the prospects of Josh caring for you are a bit tempting.And so I said-
" My head hurts very much".
It didn't hurt,only a little bit,maybe.
"I am so sorry,let me help you" and he helped me get on my feet .
"Shall I get your bag?"
"Oh I think I can manage it,ahh my head"- I was faking big-time.
" I'll take care of her,thanks" Kelly came over and Josh immediately handed over my stuff to her.
"Take care,bye"- and all the basketball guys walked away.
After we walked some distance away from the court,I said
" you had to ruin that?"
"Well,you aren't a really great actress,and you were over acting towards the end"- Kelly said.
" oh,I really hope Josh didn't notice that"- I laughed.
"So,let's go to my place, grab a bite to eat and start getting ready,what say?" Said Kelly.
"Yeah sure,no wait,I gotta go meet Matt"
"Okay then,seeyou in a bit" and she walked away.

I found Matt at the cafeteria, typing some email on his laptop.
"Hey"- I said.
" you alright? I saw you fell down"- he asked.
"Oh yeah I am good,what are you doing this evening?''- I asked.
" the usual,read,eat,sleep''- he replied.
"So my friend Liam has thrown a huge house party,and I am inviting you to that".
" Parties like that aren't my thing,you go ahead".
" No Matt Aiden, you are coming! Please!" I said.
" Okay,what time shall I pick you up?"- he asked.
"Weeeee!!!! 7,Kelly's place,seeyou!"- and I walked away.

It was almost 6:30 and we still hadn't decided what to wear.Finally we picked up a random outfit each. I decided a
blue top with a high waisted jeans and some accessories to go with it. She picked up an elegant white dress with some floral print and ballet flats.
We both looked quite beautiful and I heard a car honking - Matt.
" let's go!" and we walked out. Matt looked at us and smiled. He looked really handsome in a black shirt and denims with his hair sort of ruffled up.
"You ladies look stunning"
"And you look handsome!"- I said as we all sat inside the car.
The party was in full swing when we reached. People laughing,dancing,the music was very loud. And there Josh was,dancing with a flock of girls surrounding him.
" Josh didn't tell you about this party?"- I screamed because the music was so loud.
"He knows I don't attend these stuff"- Matt replied.

Liam walked up to the stage and asked the DJ to lower the volume.
" Ladies and gentlemen- cheer up for the night!!! "-and the crowd roared.
" Now now, it's time for some games- and we are going to play... Seven minutes in heavennnn!!!!!!" - and the crowd went crazy.
"All the guys are requested to get the slips from the bowl to my right"-and before I knew it, Matt already got one.
" Crystal, what are we supposed to do with this? "- he asked all excitedly.
" oh you open the chit, and the girl whose name is inside makes out with you for 7 minutes in a closet,duh!"- I said.
"What? I don't wanna do this" he said all panicked.
I laughed a little.
"Well you had to think before picking up that, anyways, whose name is in there?"
He opened the chit and made a really weird face.
"What?"- and he handed that chit to me. I opened it and read-
CRYSTAL.
