An Odd Couple

Chapter 6

"Now what?"- he asked all panicked.
" Ah,I don't know "-I replied.
I suddenly realised Kelly was gone.
" Where is Kelly? "- I asked him;
" I have no clue,she was right here some minutes ago"- he replied.
I looked around and saw Kelly standing next to that closet with a guy.
"Brian? Shit!!"- and I started laughing.
Brian was a guy who had no sense of personal grooming at all. He wore sweaters the whole year irrespective of the season,and that too those tacky ones with a lot off embroidered cartoons or lines like " Iam so sexy" written on them. I really wonder if he even brushed his teeth, cause if you were to talk with him you'd see something stuck there always,ALWAYS!!!
Besides he thought girls liked machos so he used lines like "Hey bitch,wanna ride??" as pickup lines and pretty much always ended up with a slap.
Even now he was wearing a sweater with "LOVE ME" embroidered with red on it. Sight of him disgusted me.
The first couple was already inside, and there were a lot of couples, too many in fact waiting for their turn while shouting out insults and laughing.
"Look, it's so crowded here that even if we disappear, nobody would notice, let's go!''- I said.
" What about Kelly? "
"Oh well, we can pick her up after sometime, let's go now, or we would have to.... You know"- I said.
He relaxed a bit and said-" yes, after you Madame " and we walked out.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I breathed the crisp night air. It was cold, but not chilly and the moon shined brightly in the cloudless sky. It was such a welcoming sight after the dingy atmosphere of alcohol and vomiting teens inside. We started walking towards the woods. Yes, Liam's parents were so rich that they owned a part of the Forest reserve, a barn with stables and a nice horseriding track. We spoke nothing but the silence wasn't an uncomfortable one.
After walking some distance he said-"Well I didn't wanted to ruin your fun".
"No you didn't "- I said.
" What's so cool in making out in a closet,its so stupid"- he said.
"I know,but for a bunch of drunk teens it might be fun"- I said and we laughed.
" Crystal, admit that you wanted to play that,specially when you had someone like me paired up "- he said in a playful tone.
" Seriously? No wait, you actually think so? You can be so clueless at times."- I said with a mocking tone.
"Prove it then!"
"Well, if you remember it was ME who suggested we get out of there, you were secretly hoping I'd agree"- I said.
" Hell no,I never thought so "- he said it so loudly that it made me giggle.
" What's so funny?"
"You are,look at you"- I said.
" Looked,didn't find anything funny "- he said and made such an awkward face like he would barf any second which made me giggle harder.
After walking some more distance he said" So, what kind of guy do you want!? "
The kind of guy I wanted,tricky question. I don't know,Taylor Lautner-ish.
"Never gave it much of a thought, what about you?"- I asked.
" I don't want a guy"- he said laughing.
"You know what I mean"- I made a face.

" Okay, I want a girl with a beautiful heart ".
" not that way, how would she be like? "
"Oh, she would be slim and tall, confident in whatever she does,beautiful, she would have long black hair,she'd wear dresses and high heels, perfect in every way"- he said all dreamily.
" Woah, you actually thought about this " - I said.
"Yeah, let's go back?''- he asked
" Umm yes, let's go "- and we walked back to the parking lot. I called up Kelly and asked her to come outside.
When I saw her I was shocked. She was coming towards us, with Brian and they were holding hands.
" Brian would drop me, bye "- and before I could even say something, she walked away. Kelly,a smart, intelligent girl with such a dynamic personality was going with the biggest loser in the world, and she had a boyfriend for heaven's sake.
" Let's go home "- I said to Matt.

He was driving silently and I was bored. So I turned on the radio and " Hotel California " was on. I started singing along loudly and at some point even Matt joined me. We laughed, sang with all the drama and laughed again. Specially the last line-
"You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.."
And I even sang the guitar tune all the time pretending to play the guitar. We laughed the whole way.
He stopped the car in front of my house
"Goodnight, see you tomorrow"- I said.
" Sure, see you! "
"Hey, Iam sorry for that game, I didn't know what they'd planned"- I said.
" It course you didn't know, don't be sorry "- her said smiling.
" Bye then! "- and I started walking towards the door.
" Bye seems awkward, say goodnight "- he said poking his head out of the window.
" Gooodniggggght" and I walked away from the car .

Once  I  was dressed up in my pyjamas, I plopped on to my bed and texted Kelly
Crystal: where r u?? Home or not?
I waited for 15 minutes but no reply.
"*sigh* this girl"- I switched off the lights and tried to sleep. But I couldn't, I kept thinking about the way Matt explained the type of girl he wanted. And so i drew up the following list-

IDEAL GIRL V/S CRYSTAL JONES
Long hair     -        mid length
Black hair      -      Brown
Fair                -       Kinda fair
Tall                -        Not really
Slim               -       You kidding
Dresses          -       Jeans rule baby
High heels     -       Flip-flops
Perfect in             Sort of
Everything     -         messy
Beautiful heart -    yeah!

The only thing that matched was my heart, BEAUTIFUL HEART I mean. Dues that matter? No right? I mean I don't want Matt, or does it matter? Oh gosh sleep!!
Matt wouldn't want me, so what ? I don't want him either, big deal.
What if Josh has same preference? Gotta check!
I tried to sleep, but nothing worked. So I decided Netflix is a better idea, and it was around 3 when I actually slept.
