THIRD PERSON POV

(next day after the party)

Driving towards the mansion of elder Kapoor that is Ram Kapoor , Satvik was in deep thought because it was a surprise when the elder Kapoor called him this morning asking him to met at his house , considering they never talked it was a huge favour that he was asking from Satvik but ignoring his curiosity he agreed to met him reaching his destination he got in and was directed to the study room and on his way he noticed that there were pictures of Sandhya only , guess it's true he really cares for his granddaughter , reaching the study room he knocked on the door and heard a faint come in , entering inside he found the old man looking out of the window ''you came '' he said not turning around

''yes you called so that's why '' satvik said looking here and there confused about this whole situation

''sit down it might be a long talk'' saying this Ram gestured Satvik to take a seat in front of him

''so Satvik are your eyes set on marrying someone'' this sudden question was able to completely shock Satvik as he thought he was here for some business talk , nodding his head in a no he said ''no I am not''

''good then marry Sandhya'' Satvik choked on his own saliva he did not expected these turn of events yesterday only Ram was telling her to marry someone of his choice and now this then he added two and two together and understood that he is the man chosen to be the groom ''are you joking Mr. Kapoor because I am not liking it very much , is this some kind of revenge you want after they broke my brother's engagement or with old age you have lost the ability to judge , it's no benefit marrying your granddaughter as you see I do not handle the main business'' Satvik expected an angry response from him but instead he found the old man sitting there with helpless expression , one his strong shoulders looked weak and fragile

''I know it's difficult to convince you and I am not doing it as some kind of revenge or benefit but it's my last retort , you are my last hope'' Ram said with a cracking voice , what is the thing that this old man wanted so desperately ''I am sorry Mr. Kapoor but I am not getting you , what good it can be to marry your beloved child and me'' Satvik said taking a sip of water to calm down his mind

''you know how Sandhya Is living away from everyone but this doesn't stop her parents from pestering her recently I discovered that they are planning to get her married to Suraj Aujha'' listening to this Satvik was furious he thought how can one be so cruel to marry their own daughter to a drunkard like Suraj not to mention he is almost 20 years older than her

''what how can they do this'' Satvik said anger bursting in him

''they don't know that I know their plan after Shreya's wedding they are planning to marry Sandhya also , as much as I didn't wanted to make her come to the party I was compelled to do so because past few days Suraj's man were found tailing her , it was necessary for me to make her come and show that I have her back so Suraj's attempt will die down for a while so I can prepare for future and the best way to secure her safety is to marry her to someone''

Ram continued telling Satvik his side of story

''no but why me you can protect her , you can send her to different country , heck she can marry someone she loves and everything is secured'' listening to Satvik's response Ram said

''and then what I have only few years left ahead of me and half of my men are secretly working for Vijay (her father) and even if she left the country they will track her , also no one is more capable than you to keep her safe because whatever may be your relations with your father he is a prideful man so Vijay wouldn't dare go against him on the contrary if Sandhya marries someone else they might try to break the relationship and worst may try to kill her husband''

Taking a sigh Satvik said '' okay what you said is true but why marry her I can tell my man to safeguard her all her life , I am capable of that''

Not giving up on his convincing Ram tried again ''you can keep her safe outside what if they call her to the family home then, your men and you can only keep her safe outside the territory of Kapoor's ''

Till now whatever Ram said was true and Satvik knew that but he was not just willing to accept it not because he don't want to keep Sandhya safe but because he deemed himself unworthy of her

'' but why is Vijay Kapoor so hell bent on doing this'' Satvik asked wanting to know the reason of it

''well sometime ago he wanted to go into the mafia realm and made a mistake of rubbing the Italian mafia the wrong way , they were behind him Vijay convinced them to give anything they want in exchange of letting him go , so they demanded a small island they wanted to keep away their weapons , but the problem was that Vijay sold that island to Suraj and in return of selling it back again Suraj demanded Sandhya's hand in marriage''

'' why not tell Miss . Kapoor the truth and even if I marry her love is not something I can give'' Ram knew that it will be difficult but he had hopes about them having sparks between them

''don't worry you have your whole life love can happen when two people live together''

''I don't know about that'' Satvik said and left from there not before listening to Ram's shouting ''I beg you to make the right decision''

After leaving the mansion he called his assistant and asked him to order his men to safeguard Sandhya from the shadows.
