As the last rays of sunlight surrendered to the night, the bustling streets of Roesheuvel slowly transformed. The Red Baron, the most luxurious inn in the city, shimmered under the glow of enchanted lanterns. Inside, the atmosphere was warm, alive with the murmur of laughter, the clink of goblets, and the enticing aroma of rich dishes wafting from the kitchen. Nestled against the inn's walls, a couple retired from the revelry, seeking solace and quiet moments amidst the chaos.

Raphael and Nina sat by the large window of their elegantly decorated room, their gazes drifting to the vast night sky overhead, punctuated by a tapestry of twinkling stars. Their son, Viktor, lay peacefully in a wooden cradle, asleep and swathed in a soft blanket. A gentle hush enveloped the room, interrupted only by the soft rustle of leaves outside.

"Can you believe we're parents now?" Nina whispered, her blue eyes filled with wonder as she turned to Raphael.

Raphael, equipped with a formidable presence that came naturally to him as a tank, appeared contemplative. "It's surreal," he replied, a fond smile gracing his lips. "I still remember him the moment we first met." He glanced at Viktor, a tiny figure seemingly untouched by the world's chaos, reviving memories of their adventure-filled lives.

Their thoughts mingled in the evening air, unencumbered by the noise that echoed below. Yet slowly, the reality of their new role loomed over them. "What if..." Nina hesitated, her brow furrowing slightly. "What if our lives as adventurers put him in danger? Magnus said so many times how dangerous our profession can be."

Raphael's smile faded as he recalled Magnus's self-serving counsel. "Nina, we've faced countless dangers. We're warriors. It's who we are. We've survived when others haven't. And we can take him with us. We'll find a way to keep him safe." He placed his hand over hers, the touch firm, reassuring.

Nina sighed, the weight of uncertainty tugging at her. "But...what if one day we can't protect him?"

Raphael leaned forward, his blue gaze locking onto hers. "We have magic and skills that can shield us all. Besides, what's life without adventure? I wouldn't want to raise him in a world devoid of exploration and wonder."

"Exactly," Nina responded, her spirit rekindling. "But not too dangerous! I want Viktor to experience joy, not just peril." She chuckled softly, imagining her son climbing mountains or exploring mystical forest trails with them.
