'You have a way with words' he whispered
I responded 'Okay love let's put that to the test'
He grinned almost blushing I could swear 'You're mad', says he 'But you don't care'.
We both sat in the comfortable silence, staring each other down willing each to cave before the other
Any moment now I thought seeing his mask slowly slip away;If I could get a penny for every time I've said not again I might be the next Mansa Musa
Most days Spotify automatically plays me Karol and Nicki's Tusa.
Sweetheart in this battle I'm nothing but a sore loser
Forever searching,forever looking,forever going in circles,forever wishing;Huh,wishes.
How many nights I've made them
How many prayers I prayed then
16 wishes,the 12 Magical Nights
Planting seedlings and loving them right
Sonnets upon sonnets
Love songs penned but how they never connect
I think at some point I gave up that I'll never forget
But my love that's a conversation for another sunset. It was your voice, the tenderness of your words The warmth of your eyes when you first looked at me
It's your care, the questions you ask when I thought there was none.
I know I've said enough like you said I have a way with words
So do you think we could work that just maybe be you could be the first?
