It all changed for me and I told you (down) | I knew it, I knew you, Gracie Abrams
°•☆•°After dinner, Lilith and Maddie were in the kitchens, talking about what happened in the lessons where they weren't together.
They were in the middle of a laughing fit when Maddie spoke up.
"You know, sometimes I wonder why you were sorted into Slytherin." Maddie said.
Lilith's laughter died down. "Maybe cause I have Black blood running through my veins." She said dramatically.
Maddie frowned a little bit. "You're nothing like him, you know?"
Lilith looked at her in surprise. "Mads, I didn't mean it like that. I just mean that I'm not as brave as the Gryffindors, I'm not smart enough for Ravenclaw, and I'm definitely not honest enough for Hufflepuff."
"What do you mean? Like you don't tell me everything?" Maddie asked.
Lilith looked at her. "I mean, do you tell me everything?"
"Well, no." Maddie admitted.
Lilith chuckled. "That's what I thought."
They went into a short, comfortable silence when Lilith decided this was the perfect time to tell her.
"Hey Mads?"
"Hmm?"
"Remember when I wanted to tell you something back on the train, but then the dementor came, and I never got the chance to talk to you about it?" Lilith asked.
Maddie thought for a moment, the memory of her father hitting her flashing in her mind briefly, but she shook it away and recalled Lilith putting the silencing charm on the door. She nodded.
"Well, I've finally gotten the courage to tell you, but you have to promise that you'll never, and I mean never tell anyone else." She said.
Maddie nodded again.
Lilith took a deep breath. "Have you ever heard of the Greek myths?"
Maddie furrowed her eyebrows. "Like the gods and everything? Yes?" She said, confusion in her voice.
"Well, you've been told they were, like I just said, myths. But what if I told you they were very much real? What if the tales about them coming down to Earth and having children with mortals are real?" Lilith said.
Maddie looked at her, confused. "Lils, are you okay? What does this have to do with anything?"
"Because, Maddie, I'm not lying when I say they are real. The gods, the Minotaur, everything is real. Even the demigods..." Lilith hoped Maddie would piece it together.
Maddie just stared at her. "You're not joking, are you?" She saw her serious expression and just knew she wasn't lying.
Lilith shook her head. "I'm a demigod. There's this camp in New York for people like me. Half mortal, half god. It's amazing. I've lived there my whole life. That was until I found out I was also a witch, mind you, years ago there was an agreement made between the gods that they wouldn't have anymore children like me because they were just too powerful in this world. My father broke that agreement." Lilith said.
