Trigger warning ‼️

~

The first light of dawn spilled through the gaps in the curtains, casting soft shadows across the room. Leo stirred awake, feeling the warm weight of Dante's arm draped over him. He blinked against the sunlight filtering in, his mind slowly piecing together the events of the previous night. The warmth radiating from Dante was comforting, and for a moment, he simply lay there, savouring the tranquility of the moment.

Dante was still asleep, his face relaxed and peaceful. Leo couldn't help but smile at how serene he looked, a stark contrast to the brooding persona he often projected. The quiet morning felt like a bubble around them, isolating them from the bustling world outside.

As Leo shifted slightly, he noticed the way Dante instinctively tightened his hold, drawing Leo closer. It made his heart flutter. It was a small, intimate gesture that made everything feel right in the world. Instead of pulling away, Leo settled back against Dante's chest, relishing the warmth. The faint sound of traffic outside mingled with the distant chirping of birds, creating a peaceful soundtrack to their lazy morning.

Dante shifted slightly and let out a sigh, rolling his head to the side. Leo raised his head from Dante's chest and peeked up at the boy. "Morning," he whispered, his voice still thick with sleep.

Dante stirred, a low groan escaping him as he blinked his eyes open. He squinted at the sunlight, then turned his head slightly to find Leo nestled against him. "Morning," he mumbled, a small smile breaking through his morning grogginess. "What time is it?"

"Not sure. Early, I think," Leo replied, glancing around the room until his eyes landed on the clock on the bedside table, which read 7:30 AM. "Oh. It's way too early to be up."

"Mmm," Dante hummed. He yawned, stretching slightly and inadvertently pulling Leo closer to him. "I'm tired."

"Me too," Leo said softly, feeling the warmth of Dante's body against his.

In a haze, Dante shifted a bit, his hand finding Leo's hair, gently playing with the strands. Leo stayed silent and held his breath. He didn't want to draw attention to it because he knew Dante would stop and he really, really, didn't want Dante to stop. "I didn't think I'd sleep so well with you here, but honestly? It's kind of nice."

"See? I told you I'm not that bad to cuddle with," Leo teased, looking up at him with a playful grin.

Dante rolled his eyes, but the hint of a smile lingered on his lips. "You're lucky I'm too lazy to argue with you."

Leo chuckled, enjoying the easy banter that had developed between them. "So what do you want to do today? It's a Sunday. Maybe we could have a proper lazy day? No responsibilities."

"Sounds perfect," Dante agreed, his fingers still absentmindedly toying with Leo's hair without a care. "What did you have in mind?"

"Maybe we could order breakfast? I'm starving," Leo suggested, his stomach growling in agreement. "Pancakes? Eggs? Bacon?"

"And coffee," Dante muttered, "lots and lots of coffee."

"Agreed. But first, we need to figure out how to get up without disturbing the peace we've got going on here," Leo said, wiggling slightly in Dante's embrace.

Dante sighed dramatically. "Why must you always make everything so complicated? Can't we just enjoy being lazy?"

"Fine, we can be lazy for a bit longer," Leo relented, resting his head back on Dante's chest and listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. "Let's just talk then. What do you want to talk about?"
