Leo refrained from texting Dante that night because he didn't want to come across as clingy. He went straight to bed and woke up on Saturday morning with a small smile on his face. It had been a long time since he had felt somewhat okay. He had patched things up with Damon and Aaron, things with Dante seemed like they were on a slow but steady pace and he had even made a start on some of his assignments. The only thing left to do was make amends with Sophie, but he wasn't in a rush for that. He had time.
Leo stretched lazily as the morning sun filtered through his curtains, casting a warm, golden light across his room. He glanced at his phone, still no message from Dante, but that was okay. Things didn't need to move at lightning speed. Sometimes, slow and steady was the way to go.
He sat up, ran a hand through his messy hair, and started thinking about the day ahead. He didn't have anything urgent to do, just a few assignments he could chip away at and maybe a quick run to the store. But before he could plan anything more, a loud knock on his door shattered the morning silence.
"Leo!" Jessica's voice carried through the wood. "Are you up? It's nearly lunch time. Hurry up!"
"Jeez, i'm awake. Chill out, mum. Come in," Leo called back, swinging his legs over the side of the bed, not caring that he was only in his boxers. His housemates had seen him like this countless of times.
Jessica burst through the door, Rex and Victoria right behind her. Aaron lingered in the hallway, his head poking around the doorframe with a mischievous grin.
"We've been talking," Jessica began, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "And we think it's high time we throw a proper party."
"A big party," Victoria added, already buzzing with the idea. "It's been ages since we had everyone over. It's been weeks! Months!"
"A house party?" Leo asked, his interest piqued.
Rex nodded. "Yeah. We've all been so caught up with exams and work and whatever else... We deserve to blow off some steam."
"And by 'we'... we mean mostly you," Aaron teased, leaning against the doorframe with a smirk.
Leo chuckled, feeling a familiar thrill at the thought of a party. It had been a while since they'd done anything really big, and the idea of filling the house with music, laughter, and people sounded perfect.
"Tonight?" Leo asked, and he already knew the answer.
"Of course tonight!" Jessica said, as if the mere suggestion of waiting was absurd. "We've already got a list of people to invite, and everyone's up for it. We just need to get drinks and stuff but we can do that later."
Leo grinned, a wide, easy smile. "I'm in. Obviously."
Rex grinned. "Awesome. We knew you would be."
"I think we should do a theme," Victoria suggested, her eyes lighting up. Jessica gasped and nodded her head quickly in agreement. "Something fun but not too over the top."
"I'm thinking 'Neon Glow,'" Jessica said with a girly squeal. "Glow sticks, blacklights, neon paint. The works!"
Leo's smile grew wider. "Go for it."
"Alright, it's settled then," Jessica said, clapping her hands together with a decisive nod. "Everyone has a job. Rex, you're on music. Victoria, decorations. Aaron, drinks. And Leo—"
"I'll handle the invites," Leo said quickly, already pulling out his phone. He had a knack for getting the word out and making sure everyone knew where the best party was that night.
"Perfect," Jessica said. "I'll take care of the snacks and the rest of the food. Sophie can help Victoria with decor too. We'll all pitch in to help clean up afterwards, but let's not worry about that until tomorrow."
