O'brian didn't disturb me today, in the morning or this afternoon. It confused me, because I needed to know the heck I did? This morning, I stood on the porch, pretending to be focused on the book I was reading as I patiently waited for him bus as O'brian passed by, I thought he would throw the paper on my head like he usually did but he did nothing.

He just threw it towards the door and didn't spare me another glance. I wanted to call out for him but my pride couldn't let me. This afternoon, gam gam decided to take me to the park so I could touch some grass. In her words, she said, "my beautiful granddaughter looks so lonely, why don't I spend some quality time with her and buy her whatever she wants." Her words, not mine.

I took this opportunity to drive and she took the opportunity to yell about everything. The ride was peaceful if you muted all her yells, prayers and threats to jump down from the car.

As we got to the park, gam gam demanded I returned her keys and continued yelling about everything. The sun was too bright, the wind was too hoarse, the atmosphere was too humid, my hair was too silky and my features were just too perfect. I'm serious, she said everything. Because she yelled, everyone already in the park faced our direction including O'brian who was walking a dog.

I stared at him, hoping to read his expression and figure out what I did wrong but he turned away and focused on the dog he was walking. Normally, I would be rejoicing that O'brian had finally let me 'Rest In Peace' but my parents raised me right. I had to find out if I offended someone and apologize, because that's the right thing to do.

Or I was just curious by his change in attitude.

"Gam gam, I have to go—"

"Leave, praise Jehovah. You can go!" I chuckled, excusing myself and walked over to O'brian. I hesitated as I reached up to him, fiddling with my hair.

"O'brian?" I muttered skeptically. He turned around with a raised brow. He didn't even make an attempt to reply just stared at me with void eyes. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Um it's clearly not nothing," I objected. "The O'brian I know never leaves without stoning the paper at my head or ignores me."

"Aren't you supposed to be rejoicing about that?" He said with lack of emotion.

"I know, that's what's confusing me," I muttered. "I should be happy about this but I feel like I did something to prompt your attitude and I need to know what."

"You did nothing Kendall."

"You can't straight up lie like that. Whatever I did, silly or serious, I would apologize."

"I said you did nothing Kendall." I wasn't taking nothing for an answer. "We both hate each other, so why don't we just act like we don't know ourselves for the rest of the summer."

I was shocked. Whatever I did, it must've been serious. Could it be the poop? "Does that mean you're breaking up with me?"

"Yes... wait... what?" His face squeezed in confusion.

"You're breaking up with me, and on our anniversary!"

O'brian scoffed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You yelled just because of compliments but now, you're saying we dated and on our anniversary." He moved and placed his palm on my forehead. "You're hot, I knew it. You're running a high fever." In a different scenario, I would've emphasized on the hot part and agreed on it fully but right now, I had to put on my serious girl pants.

"But seriously, what did I do?" O'brian heaved a sigh, running his fingers through his hair.

"You really want to know?" I nodded. "You did nothing, I was angry at myself and stupidly ignored you. I don't know why but I was embarrassed." Wait, hold up! Embarrassed? Because of me? I narrowed my eyes as I stared at the blondie who was now focusing on his tiny dog.
