"The look on your face when she tried to make you do a pirouette," I said whilst laughing at the same time.
"I was wondering what a pirouette had to do with that type of music." I took out my phone, my smile increasing.
"Guess what?"
"What?" I moved my phone to him, showing him the video I took of him swaying his hips to the music and trying to pirouette. His expression sunken and his mouth opened. "You sly fox. Remember I still have your own."
"But you promised to delete them." I frowned and he sighed.
"Alright." We walked in silence and I adored the sky. I took out my phone and took a picture of the sky. The big trees beside the road made the picture even more aesthetic.
"I just wish it was Matteo with me instead of you O'brian."
"And you just decided to ruin the mood, Kendall."
"What? Do you want me to lie?" I said with open arms. He remained quiet and we just stared at each other. When the atmosphere was becoming awkward, I decided to say anything random. "Donkeys are domesticated hoofed mammals of the horse family."
With a chuckle, he asked; "what was that?" I laughed and shrugged.
"I sensed mr awkward walking into the room with us and decided to brighten the mood. You're welcome."
"I didn't say thank you."
"I read minds O'brian." I fluttered my lashes, giggling like a child. "What music do you listen to? You look like the rock or country music type of guy." He blew raspberries, putting a thumbs down at my face.
"Wrong! I listen to anything that gives vibes."
"Okay then." I opened my Spotify, going through my library and playing the calm K-pop music that's always on replay as I read a romantic scene in a book. "How 'bout this?"
"Sounds cool." For the first time in forever, I met a guy who liked K-pop and the guy happened to be O'brian who acted like a cock on a normal basis. I changed the song to another one, hoping to get a reaction from him but he only asked for the name of the song.
Throughout the walk, it consisted of me changing music, him loving it and our normal banter. "Gosh you're frustrating. How could you like every music I played? Even the terribly written ones."
"I just like the vibe it gave. I could play one when I'm sad, energetic, happy and when I want to daydream." A shriek escaped my mouth and I used my hands to cover it.
"You... daydream?" He nodded slowly, looking confused.
"Was that a mistake—" before he could complete his words, I ran far away from him. This was dangerous, I had to escape. He liked all the songs I recommended and also daydreamed. Is he crazy? Why would he? How could he? O'Brian ran after me, shouting how confused I made him feel.
"Just stay away from me!"
"Did I say something wrong?" He asked, still trying to catch up to me. I ignored his question, making sure I was going to be far far away from him. We couldn't have things in common because after that, we could fall in love. I wouldn't be happy with myself if I started liking O'brian.
While I was trying to clear my head, he said something. "I'm sorry Kendall, for... for whatever I did." His voice was raspy and I stopped running, turning to face him. He had his hands on his knees, gasping for air. When he stood up, his hair was tussled, blond strands flying everywhere.
Was this even a good idea? Asking him to help me to make his cousin fall for me? In every Wattpad book I read, the ending was always the same. Did I want that ending for myself? He moved towards me and I stretched out my hand, stopping him in his tracks.
